My sense of humor is often off beat and at times a little "strange" by some standards, and its a mix of AS at times no doubt, but mainly learned from my family (who, it is speculated, has individuals who have AS).

The one thing people have the most trouble is saying something over exagerated or outlandishly far-off for humor. Only about half the people laugh, and the other half generally just seem shocked.

I also seem to smile at the wrong times and laugh at the wrong times. I think of life in a sitcom fashion many times (ie: the fantasies from Scrubs), so I can find myself holding back laughter to things which don't seem funny at all to others.

Yeah....which is probably why I'd like you! I have a (slightly) macabre sense of humor. Aspies are adorable though, just ask me.

I feel as though I'm only just developing a sense of humour. As a kid, it was hard to make me laugh. Only things like tickling me, or situations where you were supposed to be quiet would make me laugh, but things like cartoons, comedy shows, jokes etc never did anything for me. It wasn't until I saw friends laughing hysterically at cartoons that I realised that they were supposed to be humourus, but it baffled me as to how, because I saw nothing funny in cartoons at all.

It's only recently, the last couple of years, that my sense of humour has started to show. I don't quite know what type of humour makes me laugh yet, unlike most people who seem to understand their own sense of humour very well, but I am developing a sense of humour. I don't think I'll ever be on par with my peers, though, as it's still quite hard to make me laugh.

I'm no big comedian, but I have (at least purposefully) used my humor on people a lot more in the last few years than before. I tend to test jokes on my friends first. But my sense of humour is very dry and I've noticed many people here have trouble with sarcasm so I tend to hold back on this forum. So I might seem rather humourless.

I have a sense of humour but it usually goes down like a lead balloon here. Maybe it's too non-literal. At school, my humour was one of my saving graces. I was always the quiet guy who sat at the back of the class, and then, suddenly, quick as a flash, I'd make a funny remark that would make everyone laugh. My sense of humour is not good enough to make a career out of it, though.

I've been told I have a very unusual sense of humor and that it takes time to get used to it and "get it". Apparently I can be quite funny once people understand my humor, but until they understand it they don't find it funny and I often get strange looks from them. Many people find it hard to tell when I'm joking and when I'm being serious. I lack facial expressions and don't laugh out loud at my own jokes and I'm sometimes serious about things few others are serious about and joke about subjects few others joke about. People often laugh and then get awkward and ask if I'm being serious or joking, just to be sure. Laughing

I also have a bit of black humor, but I try to be careful with that and use it only in the presence of people who I know enjoy black humor too.

I tend to make a good amount of friends laugh a lot. My downfall is taking things too far, sometimes even at the first quip, and sometimes my humour is either beyond most people in reference or too subtle, 'tseems.
