Wouldn't it be better to split this category into PDD-NOS, NVLD and Kanner's syndrome (I don't like calling it "infantile autism"), since there are many WP users who have one of these conditions?

The Psychiatrist I went to did not want to get that specific Reodor, so I would prefer that it be left as it is.

am agree Reodor_Felgen,
it would be good to have specific options.
but if were getting specific,it would also need one for just 'asd' so WPers like velodog would also be included.
am use both classic autism and kanners, but find that kanners isn't well known as a description, even on an autism forum like wp still find users who wouldn't know what are describing.
then there are the other labels, retts [there are retts users online, dont know about WP though].
am don't know if there are any fragile x or cdd users.
what about the BAP users?
and maybe a section for those who are not NT,but have non autism conditions [eg,ADHD]?

I don't object to any change that provides more specific catergories as long as I have a reasonably close description of my DX.

I'd like that. But I also see how complicated it would be. There would roughly have to be... 8-10 choices. If I forgot none.

I think we could always just have a blank field under the current choices? Maybe make a 'PDD' and 'other disorder' (ADHD, PDs, mood disorders, anxiety etc.) option too.

In that blank field people could write the specifics - if they want to.

But, yeah, personally I'd be happy with a 'PDD' choice. Or 'PDD-NOS' or 'ASD, including AS'.
