Are there any Blackers among the Aspies? I can't imagine my life without Burzum, Behemoth, DNS, Emperor, Immortal, Darkthrone and some others that are probably not widely known. I also like dark wave and ambient. |

Black metal is OK for a song or 3 but I cannot really have it much longer. To make so much noise without seeing chaos crawl in is inevittable it seems. A few black metal songs are full of energy, but the majority are too chaotic for me. I do love loud music, but it has to be somewhat structured. I prefer regular metal recorded with a higher volume rather than just very heavy playing itself.
I do have a few black metal songs I like. The Freezing Moon by Mayhem, From The Cradle To Enslave by Cradle of Filth (despite the sick video ), a few Burzum songs, ...
But I couldn't listen an entire album of it. Also, there is too many sick characters in the whole scene. Abruptum for example are just insane, the guy from Burzum is a threat to society regardless of his musical creativity, the early members of Mayhem seem quite silly to me in their attempt of looking all evil...
Anyway, not really my cup of tea I'm afraid, sorry When it comes to metal, I prefer progressive metal like Tool or APC, or oriental metal like Orphaned Land, even some old school stuff such as Black Sabbath before Ozzy started doing drugs... Black metal is a bit too unstructured for me.
Did the singer of Abruptum ever get to the surface again by the way (I am not even sure how true the story of his disappearance were) or is he really missing? _________________ Keep it flaming your desire, always rising high, aim for stars and hit the sky!

I listen to black metal pretty regularly. There's something I really like about it, not sure what it is though. My favourite bands are Bathory, Mayhem, Emperor, Burzum, Blut aus Nord, Carpathian Forest. _________________ Your establishment... I do not recommend it. |

| I really like King Diamond and Mercyful Fate. They're the only bands considered to be black metal that sound similar to regular metal. |

| I used to be a fan, now my attitude towards a lot of "extreme" metal has cooled. But I can still think of more than a dozen good black metal albums that I may still put on every now and then. My favourite of all being Bathory's Under the Sign of the Black Mark. |

Sorry, I forgot WALKNUT, GRAVELAND and by the way, have you heard CAPITOLLIUM? The last album sounds a lot like Cradle Of Filth, but "Symphony of possession in 13 opuses" is impressive |

I like all forms of metal and that includes quite a bit of black metal. Summoning, Bathory, Enslaved, old Ulver, Windir, Burzum, Blut aus Nord, and Xasthur are some of my favorites.
Forgotten Tomb are kind of a doom / black metal hybrid I've really gotten into lately. |

I like bands like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth. You know, the bands that are NOT black metal, and are so incredibly NOT black metal that you can't mention them without saying they're NOT black metal or else people will think you think they're black metal to the point where if you look on any youtube video for either of those bands then like half the comments will be people saying they're NOT black metal as if anybody who cares thinks they are black metal anymore.

I prefer the bands who never appear on YouTube or somewhere else like that but, as mentioned above, they are not widely known. All the bands who are famous enough often turn their MUSIC FROM THE HEART into the music for making money... still they are really pleasant to be listened to |

Black Metal's cool, which is why it needs to be capitalized every time you say it. |
