I've heard suggestions for the "double oughts", the 00's...but we'll probably do like we did last time around and call it "turn of the century".

I think we have a winner! I kinda like that. This decade, far as I can tell, hasn't been all that "distinct" from the 90s.

i believe in old timey times the 00's of any century are referred to as "the aught's". for example "Nineteen-Aught-Six" refers to 1906. so right now we're living in "Two Thousand-Aught-Eight", or 2008.
but in relation to this being the George II years, i can think of a few titles.
- "The f**k All Decade"
- "The Good-Luck-Gonna-Need-It Years"
- "The Apocalypse"

| How about the "two thousand zeroes"? Note that the "two thousands" refers to the entire millennium, not just the first decade. |
