Okay we have the "twenties" through the "nineties" for the last decades, however what will this decade be called?

The Gilded Age Part two?

I've heard suggestions for the "double oughts", the 00's...but we'll probably do like we did last time around and call it "turn of the century". Smile

I think we have a winner! I kinda like that. This decade, far as I can tell, hasn't been all that "distinct" from the 90s.

They're already calling it the Millenium decade.

i believe in old timey times the 00's of any century are referred to as "the aught's". for example "Nineteen-Aught-Six" refers to 1906. so right now we're living in "Two Thousand-Aught-Eight", or 2008.

but in relation to this being the George II years, i can think of a few titles.

- "The f**k All Decade"
- "The Good-Luck-Gonna-Need-It Years"
- "The Apocalypse"

How about the "two thousand zeroes"? Note that the "two thousands" refers to the entire millennium, not just the first decade.

It was the decade of fire.
The decade of destruction.
The decade we took back what was ours.
It was the decade of rebirth.
The decade of great sadness.
The decade of pain.
And a decade of joy.
It was a new age.
It was the end of history.
It was the decade everything changed.

a hundred quatloos to whoever recognizes that.
