"I think I may just sharpen my knives and find this person..."

At first I read that as "I think I may just sharpen my knives and cure this person"

Anyways, it's not really funny to mention such threats here. Please settle down.

I don't agree with the person trying to make money off of this but it's definetly not the worst approach out there now.

I am looking at it and I dislike some of the word usage, such as every is made worse by autism, though I think it is good in some ways it is showing autism in a plane negative view again.

Haha.... that whole webpage is solid Gold...24K. She oughta team up with the oxyclean man and go on air wit dis. I can just picture her frantic assurances and beaming smile wit those rabbit teeth. I am all over this guarantee and their disclaimer page.

If you get suckered into this purchase, then u just might be one of dem "75-80% of individuals" advertised on the site wit autism and mental retardation. (In which case what be the point of buying this fine product here.)

This is sickening.

It is sickening for the plain ignorance present, for the greed that shines through, for the false hope it perpetuates, for the false alarm it rings, and for lack of consideration and respect for those others they refer to as "autistic."

But, this is an NT speaking. Ignorance is expected is it not? I'd say f-ck 'em, but I know there are some kids with HFA out there with parents that are gonna read this garbage and I'm worried about repercussions.

"...perhaps Asperger's is the next stage in human evolution" --rough quote from Attwood book on AS. Someone please make a shirt with this and use that money to fight criminal arrogance, ignorance, and wrongheadedness that women and men like this one display.

wait not all NTs are ignorant, ignorance comes from thinking you know everything and try to pass it off as the one truth despite the fact that there is false points. That is why we should remember to stay open minded.

True. But there is ignorance present, and what is the root source? Lack of understanding. From... Her not being aspie. Hence, her being NT, and calling her ignorant in regards to these words is, to me, a right thing to say.

But I get what you are saying, and try very hard to not generalize in the first place. Thanks for pointing that out, as every little bit helps. You've a very sharp and just mind.

Well I guess you could say that ignorance shoould be expected from an NT on the subject of what it is like to autistic. Even a lot of experts can be ignorant on the subject, though there are some good like Tony Atwood.

JUST DO ABA FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!

Yes, it isn't the worst piece of news around, certainly not the worst, but the way she talked about autism being a "disability" and comparing it to "childhood cancer" SERIOUSLY got on my nerves.

If she was having problems with autistic people, she should have just done ABA on them and she wouldn't have needed to worry any more.

When I looked for Atwood's book the other day, the bookseller directed me to the "special needs" section. Evil or Very Mad He was a cool guy tho, walked like a wizard possessed, and knew exactly what I wanted.

That person does NOT run the site! They are merely an affiliate, getting a commision on sales! The REAL site is:

http://www.essential-guide-to-autism.com/autism.html

Just thought I would let you know.
