I wish I had seen that. Rush is still one of my favorite bands of all time.

Oh gee, from the subject title, I thought you were saying Rush Limbough was on the Colbert Report. That would have deserved a few exclamation points.

I like to take advantage of that sometimes - I'll post lyrics in my blog (A Farewell To Kings, for instance, or Second Nature), with the headline, "Rush Is Right!!!" Smile

I'm confused; was it 35 years since

1) they were in America? (not likely...Wink
2) on the Colbert report (who knows?)

hey, as long as they're still around...Wink

Hell Yeah! Rush Rocks and 2112 is one of the best albums of all time. Plus I also LOVE the Colbert Reprt and the Daily Show.

I was confused by the 35 years thing and I guess it is just an exaggeration. I personally laid eyes on them here in Ohio in 1985. That was 23 years ago according to the calendar that I use. But I caught the Colbert performance. Tom Sawyer was great but then Colbert came out during the big drum build up at the end and ruined it. Then they restarted the song and Colbert acted as if he was going to sleep on his desk because the song had no end.

Colbert was ignorant. Rush was really good. Although Geddy's voice is mostly gone. Alex can still rip and Neil, although looking kind of old and fat, knew the parts so well that he could still get around the kit like few people ever could. I felt sorry for Geddy when he reached for notes that he just couldn't hit and then finished them an octave down or shortened the note. I was glad that I caught it.

That's the whole point of his show. His whole schtick is to make fun of Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

The analogy to O'Reilly and Hannity is most clear when Colbert throws water at guests.
The only reason that I stopped was Rush.
I understand Colbert's lowbrow schtick and I find it distasteful.

Almost as though he is ignorant.

Keep the tips and the explanations coming.
