So what do you do to cheer yourself up when you feel like you can't go through another day dealing with the differrences?

I have a cry and lower my expectations on life while pumping AC/DC.

Different things:

1. Drive.
2. Turn a wrench on my current project: restoring a '67 GMC pickup
3. Call friends. I am fortunate enough to have several friends that are still willing to put up with me even after knowing me for several years.

I write in my journal-- getting my thoughts out of my head and onto paper usually helps. That, or take a walk, pet a cat, or listen to music that inspires me.

I haven't felt that way in a long long time.

I used to listen to some pretty depressing music and draw suicidal looking pictures. I can't really recommend those as good ways of dealing with it... One day I hit bottom and came to a rationale(peeling back the layers) that I can't explain that has pretty much kept me out of the doldrums(That far in anyways) ever since. Sorry, I'm no help.

Have you ever tried NOT dealing with the differences? Just give the differences the middle finger and take that load off your shoulders. If I'm way off base just pretend this is blank.

I spend time alone, on the hills, doing crafts, whatever. I don't feel the differences if I'm on my own, they don't seem to matter so much.

Try and soemthing I can obsess about. Usually either I read, fall into depression, drive my car to go and watch aeroplanes at the international airport, pack my parachute or find soemthing to keep me busy and entertained.

With a family there isn't a lot of down time so I suppose that makes a difference. I did have hobbies and liked to go for drives and buy a cup of coffee or magazine. I do sometimes get online as it does help to find others know how I feel and sometimes reading a variety of threads helps me.

Music usually helps me in those times. I also tend to slip off into my fantasy world....or my happy place Very Happy . I have several very developed story lines that I tend to retreat into. I have done this most of my life, I think its my defence mechanism.
