In today's messed-up world, we need TV shows like that. |

| He died of stomach cancer a few years ago, and if I remember correctly the show was cancelled long before then. This just means they're getting rid of the reruns. |

| It's a shame that PBS is getting rid of Mr. Roger's reruns. This was a great show that I always watched! |

That's a shame they're stopping the reruns, as it's a good show. _________________ "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason,

This is from a network that reruns the "Lawrence Welk Show" into eternity, yet they can't keep Mister Rogers on? _________________ "There is difference and there is power. And who holds the power decides the meaning of the difference." --June Jordan |

Ah, well, shows come and go, I guess. Now we have excuses to nostagically collect VHS tapes. _________________ Female. Engineering student. Gamer. Christian. Asexual. Information Addict. Deal with it!

I don't know, some of those "nostalgia" channels do pretty good. I actually know a person who is following "Dallas" re-runs, and was very upset because JR was shot (again).
I know that PBS won't carry a show that is being carried on a regular cable channel, although I don't know the reasoning behind the termination of Mister Rogers - my ex and I made the mistake of making a donation to PBS once, and then they had us on a sucker phone list for years afterwards. Shortly after that donation, they took off the Dr. Who series, and when they called us to see if we would part with more money we told them that 3 tenors and cooking shows ad nauseum ad infinitum that they had suddenly began programming didn't interest us and was there any chance they would be putting Dr. Who back on in the future (which we would have put in money to see), we were told that one of the local channels had picked up the feed so it wasn't available for them any more. That was their line, anyway - that was just before they almost went off the air for lack of sponsor money. Hmm, Coincidence? I think not... _________________ Those who don't hear the music, think the dancer quite mad.

Anyone remember Shining Time Station?
Or Lampchops?
Or Theodore the Tugboat?
I'm sure there are others that have come and gone, but those are just some of the things that I remeber watching as a young kid.
sides, Arthur is in it's 11th season or so, and still running strong
Sesame Street is what.........14th Season?
