back when street fighter 2 came out to the arcade and then to snes, it was the craze in my school. everybody plays it. however, we had no manuals at the time so we dont know what the moves are called. we can only guess the name of the moves by the shouts the characters do.

for example: sagat shouts out "Tiger!" and "Tiger Uppercut!" when he does his moves. however everyone in my school insisted that he shouts "Fighter!" and "Fighter Uppercut!". I was the only one who heard "Tiger". everyone else heard "Fighter".

same with other characters. they insisted that dhalsim says "Buddha's Fire" and "Buddha's Flame" instead of "Yoga Fire" and "Yoga Flame". I even told them that India is a Hindu country and it makes no sense if dhalsim says "Buddha's Fire"

they also said that it's "ha-sho-ken" instead of "ha-do-ken" and "bah-dick-koo" instead of "sonic boom" so i didnt know what's wrong with them.

Street Fighter 2 (at least on the Genesis) had some terrible audio sampling. Maybe that was the reason.

Maybe you misheard them the first time, then they started saying the names of the moves incorrectly just to give you a hard time (NTs like to do things like that)

Still... Street Fighter 2 came out, what, 17 years ago? Kinda weird to bring it up this way now.
