Explaining the simplest concept to an NT

One of my workmates had an driving accidentt, so I thought that I would bring up the question; should I take an advanced driving lesson. He said it would not make any difference when someone decides to pull out in front of you or drive up your ass when your are stationary so and advance driving lesson makes no difference at all. He said one benefit is that insurance company might give you cheaper premiums if you have taken an advanced driving lesson. I said the reason why insurance companies give cheaper insurece is because they acknowledge that anyone who as passed one is a safer driver. He said no, having a advanced driving lesson does not create a protective bubble around the driver. I gave up.

Its weird, some people just say "no" and thats it. Theres just no
way they can be bothered listening, because they are 100% right or something..
Well, their problem in the end Smile glad its not me

The way i see it, theres is a big chance one might pick up something
useful in an advanced class. That is, if your not already world champion
and king of the hill and perfect in every way Smile guess some are that..

I am almost sure that NTs are incapable of original thought. They have to be proved something before they except it or believe on faith from what they see as a reliable source.

This reminds me of that thread about NT thinking that penguins are not birds.

It still irritate me. I was told I am arrogant sometime. However, I respect process of logical deduction to come to a conclusion in a systematic way. NTs come to the conclusion that their opinions, based on their own experiences, is more impotent then others; without the need to analyze.

I got in a very long argument with a friend of mine over the definition of the word inflammable. He was quite convinced that because flammable means can catch fire, the prefix in- must make it mean cannot catch fire. Even after showing him a dictionary entry that this was not the case, he was still not convinced. Noting the usage note saying not to actually use this word as it can be confusing. His reasoning being that even if a word is in the dictionary, if it is not ever actually used that way, it is not actually part of the language (for an encore, we had a two hour long discussion about whether a tree falling in the woods with no one around would make a sound). He even went as far as to write the Oxford dictionary people asking them why it was there and whether it should be removed.

People make good livings doing risk assessment and analysis. It would make sense they get paid for a reason. It would also make sense the insurance company offers lower rates to properly instructed drivers for a reason...but that's just me.

I hate when NTs do this they can be so illogical and stubborn. Do you ever get the urge to hit them in the head like they do in the V8 commercials??? I do they drive me crazy grrr.

Anyways your friend is wrong taking an advanced course really does lower your risk, but like he said it does not mean you won't get into an accident.

By the way is it me or does accident kinda seem like the wrong word to use, because many are not accidents.

Because at least one of the people involved made an error that caused the wreck, or there was a mechanical malfunction that could have been avoided with proper maintenance.

Not all of us NTs are that way. Just the less intelligent ones. My stepfather drives me nuts with his inability to understand the simplest of explanations. My ASH says he has pork fat for brains. I think ASH is giving him too much credit.

Ok, I'm still not seeing how that's not an accident. An accident is something that you did not want to happen, not something you could not have prevented from happening. Most accidents are caused by human error.

there are some real morons out there. it is plain obvious that taking advanced driving lessons makes you safer as a driver and are less likely to be in accidents because of any errors of yours.

it can be annoying when people don't get the most simple things.

Personally, I use short. Simple. Words.
Speak with authority.
Avoid multi-sylliballic expressions.

Treats work good, too.
