| To save my life I could doggy paddle and float. Low endurance and I didn't learn until nearly 12 years old. Swim classes were very traumatizing for me. |

I swim really badly, learnt it when I was very small, around 4, but didn't do it again for years, and had to relearn it at 13 because my school has a swimming pool and we had to swim during P.E. classes. I was pretty big for my age so it was really embarrassing learning to swim with really small children. |

I used to go swimming every week with friends when i was a kid.
Also was part of the swimming club at that time.
Until i developed an alergy to chloor wich made my body full of itchy red dots.
So nowadays i swim like once a year lol.... |

Swimming was a phobia for my older son -- probably because when he had lessons at the "Y", he decided he was a great swimmer and jumped in the deep end without my husband being there, and of course, dropped to the bottom like a lead balloon. Yeah, I'd say that was traumatic. He can swim, but hates to do it.
My younger son swims just fine. His swimming movements are not "free" and natural, but he keeps himself afloat fairly well. |

Yeah, but it takes a lot of effort to float in one place - I wouldn't stand a chance if I was stranded in the water somewhere (I think I've had a dream about that before). _________________ I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. |
