C C# E F G Ab A Bb C

tell me what you think of it, it's probably my favourite scale and unusually has both regular and flattened 6ths ^.^ I find the standard major scale rather dull most of the time so i'm making a new one in the good name of all things aspie...it's pretty weird so fits us damned well XD

Cool. Sounds almost modal. Sort of dark, spooky sounding.

I dig this.

Got some rather juicy ideas flowing at the minute. Lemme record 'em. I'll post them later

Cmaj: C D E F G A B C
Steps: 0 2 2 1 2 2 2 1

Cmin: C D Eb F G Ab Bb C
Steps: 0 2 1 2 2 1 2 2

Casp: C C# E F G Ab A Bb C == C Db E F G Ab A Bb C
Steps: 0 1 3 1 2 1 1 1 1

Casp is non-chromatic, and likely non-tempered as well.

Cool! Have you thought about writing an entire song?

holy crap man, that was awesome ^.^

i'm really really honoured that people are liking my somewhat angular 8 step scale, and that perhaps, it could be an "aspie scale" coz it seems to make actual sense to some of you!

anyway, the first song i ever used this scale in was called "f****" and there's a non-mastered demo version on my myspace at www.myspace.com/elmosexwhistle ^.^

oh man, it needs both A flat and A natural, don't ever make me choose between standard and diminished 6ths, that's cruel...lol

<3 xanny x

ps...the "C-asp" made me laugh out loud x

I see why not as to why we should only have one 6th in the scale. I like to alter 6's a lot, and two would make things more fun.

I use the Harmonic Major, Harmonic Minor, Melodic Minor, Double Harmonic Minor, Dorian and Phrygian Scales alot.

This scale is: -
1, b2, 3, 4, 5, b6, 6, b7
right?

Hmm, I checked my list of scales and I do not think there is such a scale as this.
It is basically the Double Harmonic Minor with a flat 7th and an added major 6th. Pretty phat.

Yup. Octatonic scale.

One scale I know spans two octaves before returning to the root again: -
1, 2, b3, 4, 5, #6, 6(13), 7(14)

Just hummed it to myself. Wow, interesting. I'd like to play it on the piano though. Wish it wasn't so late. I personally love (intervals I mean) 5ths. There's a particularly fantastic male/female held 5th at the end of As Long As You're Mine from Wicked. There's something so pure and so powerful about 5ths. I could listen to them all day.
