Hi,
In a few weeks i am going to be 27.
And it is weird because i feel really sad!! I am not scared of death, (am religious).. Just sad to be old.
I dont feel old!
When i hear somebody is 28 i think "gosh, that is old"
But i still feel 21 or less... Crying or Very sad

my hubby is going to be 32 soon. it is ok for him.. I dont understand why i am so upset about being 27...

Feel some of the same things, i just turned 32
but in many ways i feel much younger. What really
blows is that time seem to go faster and faster
every year for me. The years are just flying by
at this point

I'm only 24, and I still feel that many younger people have contributed much more to society, making me feel much older than I actually am. Sad

I know the feeling. I've languished most of my life, and here I am, 22, not in school, not fulfilling my "potential" and not living up to be the "golden boy" I was always touted as...

Ever since I've taken (and absolutely aced) those yearly state tests, I've been under constant pressure to succeed in school. NEVER worked out. Now that I'm happy with my "manual labor" job, others have commented on my wasted potential. Angers me deeply, especially coming from my parents who shoved me outside when I wanted to read, placed me in sports I had ABSOLUTELY no f-ing interest in. I've wasted my years, potential? NO. It was wasted without my consent, and I fell behind.

Oighty then, I jacked another topic, but that above is the reason I feel old and washed out. My advice, find what you love (no duh, right?) and IGNORE outside advice, comments, derision. Conforming to others wishes led nowhere for my case, put me behind, put me down. Age becomes something irrelevent if you are enjoying yourself.

I think it really depends on my environment for me. People I've talked to, things I've done, my mood, even occasionally how I look will make me feel ancient or young.

I know what you mean. Being 26 didn't seem so old until i added my high school classmates to myspace and discovered many of them were married with kids. Then i realized i'd been out of school for 8 years. I suppose having stayed in college for most of those years kept me from realizing that I wasn't a young college kid

I'm 40 on Sunday week and if I've only learned one thing, you're as old as you feel. I got diagnosed only in May last year and I reckon I feel younger now than at any stage in the last 15 years !!

Age is only a state of mind !!

Try to get over it fast, it's just a body and bodies age just like clothes do. Inside there is a you who is timeless and ageless. Everybody is born, ages and dies, so nothing special or to get worried over. Don't fall into the trap of over-identifying with your body.
