I made this thread here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postxf74124-0-15.html asking why a thread was locked.

and as you can see the mod said it was obvious why it was locked, and posted a link to the thread rules, and locked my post. So I made a new post saying how confused I was, and that after reading the rules, I Still don't get why it was locked, and now that post can't be found anywhere.

was it deleted??? and and someone Please clear up the reason why that thread was locked? I'm so confused it isn't even funny.

My guess is that the first thread that was locked was locked because some members had said some negative things about the practice of homosexuality and didn't completely side with the Aspie.

But isn't that stifling peoples opinions, and free speech?

Free speech is more of a PPR thing.

A lot of different people have different views on right and wrong, with different criteria and whatnot. I believe there are absolutes, but a lot of people don't accept that. Really it's the people in control who decide who gets punished for what, whether they are right or wrong - but who can stop them if they are wrong? Even if you appeal to a higher authority, then it may be just as bad or worse....

Anyway, I'm just a pessimistic person.

It's better to be a cynic than a pessimist.

Well, I don't think that the only motivation of people is selfishness, so that would disqualify me from one definition of cynic.

Ultimately, the majority of people are, as Scott Adams put it, one of three things: stupid, selfish, or randy. That is the perception of a master cynic.

And while I do not think that selfishness is the only motivation of all people (or any of the other two), it is the motivation for a number of people, many of whom are in too important positions.

So, do they get their position because of their attitude or their attitude because of their position or some weird mix? Excluding people not in the cynic categories who have authority.

Ever hear of successful psychopaths? Psychopaths who never kill, and never assault someone in their life, and yet make their way through success after success, simply because they do not care about people, they only care about their own achievements. Believe me, I know personally at least one.

Quote:
Psychopathy (in its extreme form) does not necessarily lead itself to criminal and violent behavior (although such tendencies are likely). Instead, psychopaths high in social cognition may be able to redirect their antisocial desires in a more positive manner.

I've never seen a more inappropriate application of the word "positive."
