Correlation does not imply causation.
Just because spectrum people tend towards things like gaming doesn't mean that gaming causes any form of autism...
Sounds like another reach by Autism-spoken-for if you ask me...

This is humorous because this morning on CNN they said playing video games had been linked to being a better surgeon. They said surgeons that play video games are quicker in making repairs and have more agility in their movements. So could we somehow infer between the two articles that AS make good surgeons? Probably not.

I can't tell you how many gamers I've encountered online that have perfectly normal social lives. I'm talking gamers that play MMORPGs for hours every day, but have perfectly fine social skills, and have many, many friends in real life.
They're trying to link AS not to gamers, but to a stereotype of gamers, which won't work. |

| I didn't find it all that strange. Whenever I get off of a video game after playing for at least 30 minutes, my mind is kind of zoned out. I can't hold a meaningful conversation or concentrate on much for a little while. That doesn't mean my mind is stuck in the game world and I imitate the player character's actions. No, nothing like that. |

games improved my hand eye coordination, memory skills and social skills. Try playing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines as a Malkavian the conversations are bizarre and you have to translate the meaning alot of the times as the other characters can't understand what you're saying.

Maybe they should create video games to improve social skills...
I think playing video games is not all bad. It helps me with deppression and it cures boredom...it keeps me out of trouble. I think it's ecspecially good if someome decides to pursue a career in game design. I want to be an AI programmer and would not have been inspired to do so if I wasen't a game addict. It's better than being a drug addict. Very interesting article...
I saw something on the news similar to this. There is a new disorder that is video game addiction. But I don't think it causes AS...just maybe some of the symptoms. I think AS can cause the game addiction.

depends on the course. im going to do a games design course hopefully next year some time and to hell with that, thats what im gonna be saying ^^. except change the "xbox" to ps3... and computers... okay ill probably just say. "i often play games" or somthing like that. these people dont seem to of done thier studys alot.
