i am a nursing student. with aspergers.
i am very good with people one on one.. at least i think i am..i do know that i do desire relationships with others.. so i'm not sure if that's particularly "aspie" or not.
i was diagnosed with asperger's one year ago.. although i myself believe that i am mild on the spectrum.
i have difficulty mostly with understanding social cues, body language and anything in a group setting. i do not understand "social rules" and even hello seems a little weird to me. (why say hello anyway? if you know someone is there-and you're happy to see them-just let them know..little things like that don't make sense to me. odd, i know)
i'm not quite sure as to where i fit in-i am actually quite cheerful and not particularly serious but after a while, people start to back away from me-leaving me to wonder what it is i did or said wrong. i try to be kind and understanding-but i'm finished pretending to be NT or normal beyond what i need to do in order to hold down a job. it's simply too exhausting.
i do have many interests but they change like the weather.. and i bore easily. other than that, i have a few little quirks but i do enjoy my life.
i guess that's all for now.. |

Hi Joanna welcome, you sound a lot like me, I also love people but one on one only, but can get overloaded, I gave up being an NT quite quickly after finding my aspieness... as just fit me much better
