(some people may remember this thread but i decided to renew it so that all the new and mayhaps older people could have their input or reinput. was that a run-on sentence? may walk-on...jog-on... is reinput a word? oh, vell...)
The ship has limited resources thanks to Capitan Squeegee who decided to do the honorable thing and go down with his ship...and every thing in it. The cook is gone...he dissapeared when we crashed. He said something about reuniting with his dolphins friends or something and dove into the water...anyways, we also have no automatic fire starters so we'd have to make fire manually(grab two sticks and start working). what would you do?
i'd check to make sure that everyone was okay.

I'll walk the beaches, collecting tar off the heals of my feet to be used for some purpose later. Perhaps sealing the roof of our newly built shelter I should have helped built (but didn't due to my hate for being "ordered" to do it).

well considering I probably know more about survival then most people here
a lot of you would die, as I would flee to a cave OR build my own utopia
I would name myself General Piotr, ruler of the great "Island of Soviet Socialist Pirates"
I would outlaw religion, for one, of course have goons to protect me
and under my great leadership, the majority would survive to witness my utopia
(I am writing a story about that-where I don't know anyone's names)

Food, shelter and making sure people are safe.
Not neceserelly in that order.
But voted 6 since i had to choose - the elements
can kill swiftly without shelter

I'd command everyone, and civilise the island. Look for raw materials, build, farm, mine, organise human resources efficiently.
Houses out of clay and wood, coppices, make the island self-sufficient.
Economic control would have to be strict due to the limited resources of the island.
We could, however, have a fleet of ships, bows & arrows, primitive muskets, electricity, and the sort, within six months, provided that the group isn't a bunch of retards.
If people have a basic idea of how things work, then that's somewhere to start from.
