I love Music, I like all types, I love finding obscure and weird bands
When I listen to music, it's like a form of escapism, no because I'm upset but because I just like to imagine stuff and be creative.
Everytime I listen to Music I always fantisize that it's my band, I visualize everything, fans, merch, zine coverage, lifestyle, everything (This isn't one of those lame rockstar, stadium fantisys!)
Plus I always have to pace or be on the move while listening, I CAN'T! listen to music sitting still.
BTW, I'm new, Hai! :
Can a mod, move this? _________________ Sex Sells |

I think many of us escape when we listen to music and it also depends on what appeals to us. It's so easy to just get lost and really retreat into your own world if listening to something that you enjoy. And welcome btw. _________________ I was told that I have PDD-NOS and ADHD- in other words, mild AS with a history of speech delay. I'm like this too. Especially if it's a female singer, I can easily fantasize being on stage performing that song (as I'm female myself), almost to the point where I can visualize myself performing, the stage, the crowds, the whole scene. Not that this would ever happen, as I'm as tone deaf as one person can be, but hey, we all need our little fantasy worlds once in a while, right? |

If I have headphones, I can really get into a particular song that catches my attention. _________________ Not by revolution but through evolution are all things accomplished in permanency.

I do this all the time. It puts me into a sort of movie, or, a really powerful fantasy where I'm part of the band and it's my music.
Welcome btw : ) _________________ "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls..." |

When I close my eyes and listen to music I get sort of lost in the patterns of the melody, and it transports me to a sort of tranquil timeless space, where nothing exists but the patterns. I imagine the musical patterns as swirling and dancing patterns of colored light. It's very relaxing and very jolting when I come out of my little trance. _________________ Quantum Mechanics -- the dreams stuff is made of |

I need to add that I am a music geek. Music is the essence of being.

Sure I daydream about rocking out while listening to music, but there's also the matter of a band called Yes. I don't know what it is, but anything from around Close to the Edge to Tormato (and including that burst of solo albums), I can't listen to them without going into this weird trance. At first I didn't think I liked the band, because I couldn't hear their music...I would just completely space out, even if I had no other distractions...but later I would notice that while listening, I would get this feeling like I was somewhere else...some distant land, some distant time perhaps.
Haven't found any other bands that do that to me @_@ _________________ How wonderful to be so profound. |

| Same thing with me, I get into a trance-like state. I don't move, though, even if the music is rhythmic and calls for it. |

I alwyas loved singing, as a7 year old at home, for family, now in public improvising wherever I can in blues bars, rock at Karaokes. But I realize i used to fill up silence with music from mornnign til evening, afraid to feel alone... _________________ Have you ever met a normal person? And, did you like it?
