| Well.....I am Anxiety Woman From Hell....partially because of my AS and partially because of my life (kids...adult kids living with me...ect). I do take an occasional Lorazapam when I have a panic attack or when I get close to having a meltdown (cant take it anymore frazzled nerves). I think its a big help to me because when things get too much for me I just cant handle it. My husband used to call me The Volcano. Now I can just take a tiny little pill and....not kill anyone LOL. Seriously though, it is better for me and for my family. |

definitely, meds can make all the difference between life and death for some autists [eg,those who head bang/attack themselves, those who have severe meltdowns etc],it can also bring on speech in some autists who are completely non verbal, and increase speech in those who have some, they can help with so many parts of autism.
if the problem is severe enough, any improvement seems big,so meds are very helpful for some, but there's no point in having them if the problem isn;t life affecting,as there will be other ways to help-without the side affects of meds. _________________ [LFAutie]

no there is no such thing as a drug that can make you think better.
try phosphotydl serine fishoil bcomplex magnesium acetyl-lcarnitine that should improve things for you. |

| I'm on risperidone to help clear my head and help my anxiety. Risperidone is an anti-psychotic but can be taken in low does for the anxiety, irritability and inability to focus. It helps me. When it get's really bad, I take a xanax. Thankfully, that's not that often if I stay on my other meds. |
