I'd prefer to have a single, but I have a roommate.

definitely single. couldn't stand to have somebody around me all the time and he would most likely not like me throwing things everywhere.

I live by myself in a one-bedroom apartment.

I dunno, I loved my roomate, we were really close and I liked always having someone there to do things with. But I lived in a pretty unique dorm-- we kind of had 2 small connected rooms, so we had our own space to some extent. When I went abroad, I had to share a TINY, single room with another girl who had a VERY high-pitched voice and who just had a really annoying personality. I don't think they did one of those "roomate surveys" that most schools do, so we really weren't a good match. But if you and your roomate are totally incompatible, you can usually switch.

I have a roomie and no problems with him yet. My psych got obsessed with the idea of me needing a single room, which he came up with on his own, ignoring my assurance that it was not necessary. He then nagged my uni's disability office about it for a while.

a roommate gives youa friend who can help you out but you should try to get a roommate from before. Otherwise you might end up with someone crazy

I'm curious.......Does it cost more money to live in a single-bedroom apartment than in an apartment w/ 2 beds or 2 bedrooms?

I had to share a room with another student until Junior Year, when we had the option to get a single. It is the best thing I ever decided to do with living in the dorms and is well worth the extra fees paid to get one.

Yes. Otherwise almost no one would choose to have a roommate. Contrary to popular belief, even NT's need their privacy and space.

Depends entirely on whether your roommate is as annoying as fuck

For my college experience, was ok living in a single, but the mental scars from living in a triple will never heal. Absolute nightmare.

I currently have a roommate, which is working out quite well. It helps that our schedules match, that we're both committed to saying something if we're annoyed by something one of us is doing, and that both of us are fairly laid back.
