Hey, I guess I should have started here eh? I found this website through a twist of events on Facebook. I'm in Whitehorse, Yukon where I live in a house with my two remarkable kids and way too many domesticated animals. My son (10) is diagnosed with autism specrtum (Asperger's) and my daughter (6) is currently undergoing assessment. They are both brilliant, inspired and socially inept. I'm most likely AS undiagnosed, as is my brother-- and my dad is farther down the autism spectrum. We're a bunch of reclusive nerds with a variety of obsessive interests. What's wrong with that?? |

| Hi Artemisia, welcome to WP, I was up in Whitehorse last year by truck, but was only there for 1 hour, because we did a turn and burn back south, which sucked, since I wanted to see the town. |

| Hey Spudnik, were you delivering survival goods for us crazy northerners? I think the town's nothing special-- lots of corrugated metal buildings, vinyl village suburbs, Starbuck's, Timmy's, WalMart and the other usual suspects-- it's the landscape around here and the wild places that I love. |

| My friend makes 2 trip a week from Edmonton, and invited me along for a ride, I plan on going up there next summer, and maybe go up the Dempster to Inuvik, I also want to see Dawson, my great grand parents lived there during the the gold rush, and stayed till 1913. |

Spudnik: hauling fuel or food? We sure use more than we make here. Your trip plan sounds well worth doing! Dawson likely hasn't change a whole lot since your ancestors were there, apart from the souvenirs-- the business are required to maintain the old facades.
Thanks for the welcome, JerryHatake and SpiceWolf! |
