I don't have Asperger's, so my opinion is meaningless in this regard, but I don't really understand how it could be that offensive. People with other conditions have it a lot worse; schizophrenics are often portrayed as violent psychotics and people with tourettes are consistently made out to be angry swearing lunatics. The "ass-burgers" joke doesn't even concern the condition or people with it, it just pokes fun at the word it's self.
That's why I don't see it as a big deal, they're making fun of the word, not the people with the condition.

There's no option for "Mildly annoying, usually diffused by getting in first and getting it out of the way with a joke."
I prefer to pronounce it As-per-jurs, much as that might be wrong. I say it that way because of the joke and so that people don't have that running through their head while I'm talking... "Did he just say he has...?"

I'm not offended by it, but I don't think it's funny either.
It's about as funny as console fanboys who say "Nintendo LameCube" or "Sony Gaystation", etc. 
Or "Wii means penis!"  Oh man, am I glad that's over with.

It's not funny, it's just an infantile pun. The kindergarten-to-second-grade demographic would only be the ones to find it that funny, and I doubt that they are familiar with Asperger's.
