I think AP chem screwed up 2 or 3 4.0s at my school (which really pissed off some people Smile.)

I'm apparently not the first student who until AP Enviro never stood a serious chance of getting a "C" Looked that way in Chem and Bio, but only becauseI did miserably on tests on the one and lans on the other. In Enviro I've been getting Cs on both and even got an F on something.

According to my guidance counselor, she frequently has (neurotypical) students come to her in tears over thier grades in this class.

They transfer. It's a low bar, but I'm sticking too it.

What class is this?

In every class, and this is college.

One reason I don't want to go to an Ivy League (or more plausibly)/Ivy League Imitator school is that with the exception to an extent of Princeton, such schools don't teach.

I'm looking at Amherst (Yeah, right, but you never know), Hampshire, and perhaps Marlboro.

For some strange reason I've been making straight A's this year. I'm typically an A/B student... The B's could be avoided if I weren't so lazy... Last year I averaged out with a C in math (though I made a 95 on the exam... I had failed one six weeks of it) but that's about it. I'm just lazy. Don't study or do homework. I'm putting off doing an essay that's due tomorrow (assigned last week) on a book I didn't even bother reading (Uncle Tom's Cabin Rolling Eyes)... Greh.

I always made the honor roll. I even started taking it for granted after a couple of years. The one time I didn't make the honor roll, my parents grounded me for a week. Then again, I had no friends at the time, so the punishing effect was pretty low.

I am an A/B student but largely because my parents push hard for A's. I don't like school too much and have a 4.5 weighted average in a school where the valedictorian has a 4.9. I am a good student but everyone wonders why my GPA is so low considering that I am one of the smartest kids in the school. I just think that my classmates think far too highly of GPA.

How much to they weigh your classes? Shocked At my school, even if you get straigh-As and take the most advanced classes, the highest people get is about a 4.2 or 4.3.

Well, every Honors/AP class gives 5 points for As, 4 for B's, 3 for C's and 0 for F's. So, if you only take Honors/AP courses (a feat which is impossible without testing out of classes) then you could get a 5.0. Regular classes give 4 points for A's, 3 for B's, 2 for C's and 0 for F's. A lot of people in my school test out of the regular classes they have to take and our valedictorian skipped over Spanish 2 simply because there was an Honors Spanish 3 that would not have lowered his GPA. I guess your system weights a lot differently.

Technically, my school weights it the same, but only the AP classes get extra points, and a few honours classes (pre-calc, chem, bio and US history). We also don't have as many AP and honours courses offered. Neutral
