I'm writing a book and wondering what to put in it for maximum reader benefit. So, given the choice, how would you like to feel?

Happy is stressful, even if it's a good kind of stress. Calm is better.

(Learned in my anthropology class that people in the Western world tend to pick "happy" over "calm", with vice versa in the East... no data on the Middle East yet! That makes me atypical since I am genetically German and culturally German-American.)

I can be happy and stressed at the same time. I've recently opted for peacefulness and calm in my life, but I'm not really happy. Stress always comes along with excitement in a job environment, and though I'd love to be stress-free, it's also pretty boring as well. It's a choice between being happy & stressed or being bored & calm, for me. Can't seem to have both 'happiness' and 'calm' for some reason...

I voted other cause there's no "all of the above" option. it's kinda hard to choose between happy and healthy ;p

I chose peaceful. I live in one of the craziest, most hectic towns in the world.

I believe the feeling I would like to have is currently known as:

"being in the zone".

Not the twilight zone, but something like being hyper aware and able to do things,
which is what athletes tend to describe when their mind and body are in perfect
sync with whatever they are doing and they are doing it extraordinarily well.

If I was able to jump up in the air and do a flip and land on my feet,
and if I was able to talk to anyone anytime without anxiety or slowness,
then I would say I would be "in the zone" then.

What about "Peacefully happy" or "Happily peaceful"?

Or is "Serene" better?

Voted for Other.
Would like to feel (realistically-yet positively-if such thing is possible) confident and stable.
