I used to think that blogs were nothing more than the egocentric rantings of people who believed that they were the only persons who were ever persecuted, depressed, or lonely. So many of the ones I've read through unsolicited links featured rambling rants on the general topic of "Poor, Poor Me" or "Nobody likes me. Everybody Hates Me" or "Why Do Cyberbullies Always Pick On Me?" or "I'm In Love, But He/She Doesn't Care" or "Pay Attention To Me Because I'm Sooooo Special" or ... you get the idea.
Then I found a few Skeptics' websites, wherein people's questions and the resultant answers were posted in bloggish form.
So I thought "I can do that!" and posted my first blog on this website. Then another. Then two more. Now I'm hooked. It's like having my own personal thread (even though there is really no such thing), with no one criticising my spelling, grammar, syntax, or general usage of the English language.
So now I'm a blogger. Are you? _________________ Evidence, Please? |

I read you new blog and I like it, like it a lot. I used to have a private blog. It was more of a time of self discovery for me. Just laying out me and the way I am in words...trying to understand why I'm so freaking weird, I think. That's where I learned I'm aspie. I had suspected Asperger's for myself ever since my child was diagnosed, but none of the medical books I read covered anything but the basic diagnostic and treatment blah blah. I met a friend through my blog that really opened my eyes. It was quite the two sided coin of experiences for me. On one hand I learned to accept a lot of crap I've spent a lifetime beating myself up about, on the other...I think a co-worker in IS was reading it. Ruined me for blogging. I'll never do it again, but I'm still glad I did it anyway...I found this planet, after all... |
