Not sure if a thread like this has already been made, but what is the story behind you avatar, why did you pick the image that you have?
Mine is a cat because I like kitties, and it's surrounded by emptiness because I sometimes feel that I am. _________________ Humans are intelligent, but that doesn't make them smart.
I picked Cyclops of the X-Men, because I relate to him; he's generally a very aloof character, he has had some problems socialising in the beginning (mainly because he's afraid he'll harm people with his uncontrollable super power if they get to close), I just dig that. _________________ Clarity of thought before rashness of action.

Mine started as a variation of my first avatar, a four leaf clover. I've stuck with it because I like it and have lots of choices. I can change it without really changing it. _________________ On with the show...This is it.

Mine is a screenshot from Trinity Blood, of the character Caterina when she was younger. I have always felt that young!Caterina is the anime character that best represents me both physically and emotionally. The scene where Abel rescues her and she reaches for his open hand is very powerful to me; because in a way I feel that Abel "rescued" me, too.
I added the pastel rainbow colors to be symbolic in that I see the world differently than others (no, not literally as a rainbow; as I said, it's a symbolic thing).
The barely-legible words at the bottom read "Just Imagine", because that would be a perfect tagline for my life as I am constantly using my imagination.

That's me in Colorado Springs shooting a G36 rifle. I like to use pictures of me shooting both because it's my hobby and intended profession, and it gives people an idea where I stand politically without me having to say anything. _________________ Consider the source of this advice...

Mine is just one of the default ones from the gallery (I'm new to the site) but I chose it because it seems fun and friendly. I am currently trying to design my own using jpgs and photoshop.
I was conflicted between using Stuart Larkin's face (that adult baby from MAD tv) or the proud Fire Nation emblem (the antagonist, belligerent country from Avatar: The Last Airbender)...so I ultimately chose the FN emblem.
