Tim Burton may have a form of autism, according to his long-term partner Helena Bonham-Carter.
(This is very interesting...)
Helena will star as Jacqui Jackson in the BBC drama, the Magnificent Seven, about Jacqui Jackson and her seven children to be shown in December. Jacqui was made famous in a recent documentary about how she has brought up seven children, four of whom have varying degrees of autism (including Luke Jackson who has Asperger's Syndrome).
Helena - "We were watching a documentary about autism and he said that's how he felt as a child."
"They (autistic people) have application and dedication. You can say something to Tim when he's working and he doesn't hear you."
"But that quality also makes him a fantastic father; he has an amazing sense of humour and imagination. He sees things other people don't see. Billy is enchanted by him."

That doesn't really surprise me. I've always felt that it was easier to understand his movies more than some of the other stuff out there. I guess that wasn't a co-incidence.
Big Fish, Beetlejuice, Mars Attacks, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (the good modern version).
All favourites of mine.
He seems to like his comfort zones too, often using the same actors, re-using the same themes and ideas in varying context etc.

yeah, same here definitely. Beetlejuice and Nightmare are my most favoritest movies in the world... they're just...perfect. he creates such beautiful worlds that you just wanna forget everything and run off and disappear into one of them...
