If I was PM or President I would ignore all that you listed and mandate we all party like it was 1999.

If I were president of Colombia:

The Iraq War - Cease all association with it, condemn it at every opportunity, and close our embassy in the U.S. until the occupation ends.

Environment - Fortunately, Colombia has already signed Kyoto, and is complying.

Freedom of Speech - Full guarantees.

Freedom of Press - Full guarantees -- which is way more than our current government is willing to grant.

Freedom of Assembly - Full guarantees.

Foreign Policy - I'd speak honestly, no matter what. The policies of fear must be resisted.

Health Care - You don't even need to ask -- universal care, period.

Gun Control - All guns forbidden. In fact, I would abolish the army.

Immigration - Free for all.

The Internet - Free for all.

Civil Liberties - Free for all.

Individual Privacy - Absolute, inviolable.

Social Security - Free for all.

Taxes - Only as much as minimally necessary, but I'd charge the rich proportionally more.

OK, seriously, I would stop the "Drug War", which BTW is not one of your options, and mandate that we all party like 1999. Trying to get re-elected here, ya know. Laughing Worked for many leaders over history.

Screw being President of the US, I'd settle for being a US Senator from Oregon
or a member of the US House of Representatives from Oregon.

Iraq: Condemn it at every opportunity and create bills that would increase the safety of our troops who are in Iraq. I would also be more active in the anti-war community, pissing everybody off. I would advocate for Iraq veterans who refuse to go back.

Environment: Oregon signed Kyoto and is complying.
Governor Kulongoski is currently in Japan, pitching his idea that Oregon
should be a front-runner for designing & distribution of fuel-efficient
and environment-friendly cars.

Freedom of Speech: Full Guarentees.

Freedom of Press: Full Guarentees. I would mandate that all mainstream
news media tell their stories truthfully, instead of compacting their stories.

Freedom of Assembly: Full Guarentees. I would even join a few protests myself. Laughing

Foreign Policy: As your Representative, I will travel the world to gain more knowledge
of how each individual country works. I will speak honestly, regardless of whatever.
The policies of fear must be dissolved.

Health Care: I, as your Representative, will advocate for affordable health care.
I will create bills that will find ways to insure the uninsured 70 million Americans
who do not have health insurance. I will advocate for a fixed co-payment, so whenever you see your doctor, dentist, specialist, etc., they will ask you for a particular payment, depending on your insurance. For example, if you are asked for $5 at your clinic, you give $5.
If you are asked for the same amount at your dentist's office, you give it.
Paying it later is fine. You do not have to worry about paying it on-the-spot.

Gun Control: All guns forbidden. Guns will be tagged for later scientific study.

Immigration: Free for anyone who has a valid Green Card.
Anyone who does not will be subject to a program where
they will be asked questions to determine if they are of
a sound mind, body, and emotions to enter the US.

The Internet: Full Guarentees.

Civil Liberties: Full Guarentees.

Individual Privacy: How much privacy should one have thanks
to Bush's Secret Spying Program?

Social Security: Full Entitlement to Social Security Benefits.

Taxes: I will work to make sure the richest 5% of America pay more taxes.
I will work to cut taxes by 25-30% for the "Average American Family"
and by 40-50% for anyone living below the poverty line.

In Colombia:

Education - Build lots more public schools, recover public universities, and guarantee literally no child left behind.

Economy - Redistribute land, raise the minimum wage to a decent level, assure everyone a vital income, and deregulate international trade.

Fishing - Impose heavy sanitary regulations, a maximum fishing quota, and encourage fishing companies to grow their own fish.

Drugs - They must remain illegal. Along with tobacco and alcohol. Punish the producers and dealers, not the addicts.

The Iraq War: We've pretty much won that one already, so I can't really comment.

Environment: We need to use as much renewable resources as possible.

Freedom of Speech: Unrestricted free speech should be guaranteed to all.

Freedom of Press: Same as freedom of speech.

Freedom of Assembly: Same as the above two.

Foreign Policy: We should avoid war with Iran and North Korea, but we should go after the militants in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

Health Care: Universal health care for everyone.

Gun Control: Guns should still be available for self-defense.

Immigration: Illegal immigration should be stopped, but standards for legal immigration should be as reasonable as possible.

The Internet: Except for solicitation of children and bomb-making sites, the Net should be free of censorship.

Civil Liberties: Guaranteed for everybody.

Individual Privacy: Should be guaranteed.

Social Security: Should be guaranteed.

Taxes: If providing above-mentioned services means raising taxes, so be it.

The Internet: Full guarentees to everyone, except for sites
that solicit pornography and bomb-making.
As your Reprensentative, I will impose regulations
on MySpace and Facebook.

Education: Every K-12 student is entitled to a free education.
I will refuse to support any bills that intend on destroying schools,
students and their education. For colleges/universities, I will work
to decrease the costs of textbooks and tuition. The prices for
textbooks at colleges/universities are ridiculous! My math book cost $145!
I will work to decrease costs of tuition and increase the number of grants
and scholarships availble to any college student who seeks it.

The Economy: The idiots who provoked the $700B bailout bill
should be accountable for their actions, NOT taxpayers.
I will work with representatives from all the banks,
Wall Street, and the "American People"
to ease financial tensions on everybody.

Commercial Fishing: We have to eat somehow,
but a regulation shall be imposed on fishing companies.
The regulation will set a maximum limit on how much fish
is caught. I will also encourage "fish farms" to increase the number
of fish raised in their farms.

Drugs: I will work to ban smoking everywhere!
Marijuana and all illegal drugs will remain illegal.
Alcohol must be illegal, except in bars.
Dealers must be punished, not the addicts.

Medical Marijuana: I will advocate for a nationwide medical marijuana program
and will work with scientists to create a techinque. It will help users of medical
marijuana to breathe in a mist of the pure drug PHD without the harsh smoke.

Transportation: We have enough transportation problems already, so no comment.

No one asked about a Chancellor? But okay:

The Iraq War: Keep Germany out of it!
Environment: Support public transport.
Freedom of Speech: install it, remove blasphemy laws!
Freedom of Press: install it as well. Which means for example that pornography, which is drawn or computer generated, ie where no person is harmed should be completely legal
Freedom of Assembly: it's more-or-less established here.
Foreign Policy: Kiuuu, difficult question in these times, I definitely need to read more about this area. Using the power in the EU for (instead of against) civil rights,
Health Care: Here's my 700 page proposal for it. (seriously, I can't discuss that topic in a few words)
Gun Control: loosen it somewhat. If guns were outlawed, only outlaws would have guns!
Immigration
The Internet: Keep it neutral, free and affordable. Remove all censorship.
Civil Liberties: Yes, please!
Individual Privacy: Informationelle Selbstbestimmung into the constitution. More efficient punishment for data-traders.
Social Security: I do not like the financial striptease, you need to do to get Hartz 4. It should become easier and less degrading.
Taxes: lower, please!

Education: Allow home-schooling if academic performance standards are reached, make science lessons better, literature and arts optional and CS mandatory. CS should use Linux machines. It should deal with the concepts, not the programs itself. A database of material for teachers should exist.
The Economy: Let's do the laissez-faire!
Commercial Fishing: TBH, I lack info on that.
The Drug War: legalize it all and put the people in prison, who lie about what's in the drugs.
Transportation: Is a state or municipal issue, as Helmut Kohl so nicely said

Big Oil: Work to find the idiots who cover up tax breaks for Big Oil
and find ways to increase more taxes for Big Oil.
I will work to sustain the current prices for gas that we have now.

Big Pharmacy: Same as Big Oil.
For people who cannot afford medicine, I will work to decrease prices.

The Iraq War - Pulling out now and leaving them with a shell government and less than basic defence and civil infrastructure would be more dangerous.

Environment - More emphasis on hydroelectric and geothermal. Try twisting China & the US governments' arms into a new treaty otherwise 100% recycling capability in my country would be pointless!

Freedom of Speech - Universal

Freedom of Press - Universal

Freedom of Assembly - Parliament held in two houses. House of Representatives & House of Lords. Elected lords appointed by parliament's lower house, to include the countries best minds in all fields, doctors, artists, etc. Executive, legislative & judicial bodies kept separate. Head of State (monarch) opens and can dissolve parliament, constitution prevents absolute monarchy, privy council and monarch may govern temporarily in times of extreme national emergency. (When a political party cannot be trusted to do what is best for the country, only their party and its future).

Foreign Policy - Cautious, open.

Health Care - similar to UK NHS, free care for emergency and necessary procedures, not to include cosmetic surgeries except in cases of injury/disfiguration.

Gun Control - Armed police, civilians denied hand-guns and concealed weapons.

Immigration - Strictly controlled, migrant workers welcome with sponsor and valuable skills

The Internet - Uncensored

Civil Liberties - Detailed in written constitution

Suffrage - Universal above the age of 18

Individual Privacy - Maintained

Social Security - Minimal and where needed, similar system to some US states where welfare claimants work for the state, rather than just sitting at home smoking and drinking as many do in the UK.

Taxes - Light, yet enough to fund health, education and defence. VAT/Sales tax set at 5% with zero-rate exclusions.

Education - Compulsory to age 18. Post-18 education to include subsidised university for those that want it, vocational courses for those that don't.

Prisons - Enforced penalties for those that break the law, prison ships to cope with population, no death penalty.

Big Oil: subsidize research for alternative fuels, otherwise same as big Pharma

Big Pharma: relax unneeded restrictions, let competition happen. My general motto of "Let's do the laissez faire" basically applies here. Cool

I'm liberal, but ironically, I supported the war in Iraq. I was actually conservative at the time.
