"Then came the fall and all the crap
Everyday judgment day, someone kicking ass
I’ve had it, I’m pissed, enough is enough
Stuff aint so rough when you’re down in the buff
I won’t tell anyone else how to be
You can be yourself, but just let me be me"
To me, these lyrics express the idea of letting people be themselves, since in reality, we were all born naked and are not so different after all. The song to me is brilliant, while using humor to get a very important ideal across. It goes on to say:
Imagine, if you would, a world in which the Armies and Navies were all buck naked
Could you shoot a man in his birthday suit? Could you shoot? Would you shoot? Could you choose?
I am quite honestly flabbergasted, but not at all mad that I was told it was inappropriate. I'm just looking for an honest, open discussion so I can understand why and avoid such issues in the future. Moderator and Alex input is requested.
Here is the whole song for context:
“(I Was Born) Naked” by 2 Skinnee J’s formerly known as Too Skinnee J’s
From the album ‘American Heroes’
Genesis…Book 1, Verse 1
In the beginning, get your skin out the sun
Back at the start, when everybody was nude
The Rude Boys were nude boys with nothing to prove
Yeah!
Then came the fall and all the crap
Everyday a judgment day and someone’s kicking ass
I’ve had it, I’m pissed…enough is enough
This stuff ain’t so tough when you’re down in the buff
I won’t tell anyone else how to be
You can be yourself, but just let me be me
Yeah!
My skinny skin is just my dapper wrapper
You know that doesn’t matter to the biased attacker
Writer…a wrecker…I’m weaker and I’m lighter
Took a sneaker to my head, ‘cause I’m a lover not a fighter
We come in molars…choppers and incisors
And remember what we got, so put on our masks and our disguises
We all got spleens, and unlike Chiquita, we come in more than thirty-seven shapes and sizes
Now I’m gonna break it down to the basics
The facts are there, you have to face it
You can’t replace the bass or erase it
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
Yo! Mister M. you’re not wearing any clothes
And your busy body’s got a nosey nose
A chinnity-chinnity-chin and ten little toes
Or maybe you don’t, it just doesn’t matter
‘Cause the shorter, the taller, or the thinner, or the fatter
As a matter of the fact, it’s a fact of the matter
‘Cause your mealy-mouth is just a spigot of bigotry
And you step up hard like you want to abuse me
But wait a minute…first, you’ll have to excuse me
Why I strip you down to your birthday suit
I think at this point the point is moot
Hell no!
I didn’t come to preach, only to remind you
Like everybody else, you gotta butt behind you
You know you gotta do it every day of the week
You gotta eat, breath, drink, piss, sh**, pee, sleep
Now I’m gonna break it down to the basics
The facts are there, you have to face it
You can’t replace the bass or erase it
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
Yo…yo!
Now I know you all…yeah
You may be debatin’ it
But when you all started out like me
You were all born naked
So I’ve got something to tell you
You’re not better than anybody else
So when you dis the J’s
You just dis yourself
On the back of that ass
The hand bone connected to the backbone connected to your nose bone connected to your bonehead…your bonehead
My leg bone connected to my butt bone connected to your ass bone, so I’ll tell ya what I said
Imagine, if you would, a world in which the Armies and Navies were all buck naked
Could you shoot a man in his birthday suit? Could you shoot? Would you shoot? Could you choose?
Naked…like the day you were born
Naked…like the sheep that was shorn
Naked…like an actor who does porn
Naked…like just shucked corn
Naked…no clothes being worn
Naked…first thing in the morn
Naked…like the truth being sworn
Naked!
Naked!
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked
I-I-I-I-I-I was born naked _________________ I won’t tell anyone else how to be

Your sig looks ok to me, albeit a bit long. Perhaps someone found it offensive for some reason? _________________ The Sun has risen and set for millennia. I saw the first sunrise and will see the last sunset. I am everything and nothing, witness to all; the ghost in the machine.

Why not just say, "I'm mad as Hell, and I'm not going to take it any more!"?

I prefer quoting meaningful lyrics. I guess I will remain perplexed, since those with power didn't even have the decency to respond and explain the errors of my ways. Not even a PM! _________________ I won’t tell anyone else how to be

Then I suggest that you take it up with the Powers-That-Be with a PM instead of trying to incite discontent among the membership with a public post. _________________ The leaders of the American automobile industry have been amazingly consistent in their management philosophy, in that they have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity. |

| Odds are massively in favor of someone with a thin skin complaining to a mod they know will buy it. It's doubtful they'll grow a pair and come out and say who they were, either. Good luck with this, though! |

Sorry to be boring, but the WP rules ask that you keep the sig to 6 lines or fewer - that may be part of the answer. _________________ I'm as puzzled as a newborn child |

Did anyone think for a moment that swearing is against the rules on WP? There is swearing in it... |

It may be a case of some word(s) being stronger in one country than another. There are a couple of words in there that "may?" be offensive in some countries - "cr*p" or "pis**d" perhaps? To me they would not be classed as swear words though.
I had a discussion with an American friend regarding such language and there is a surprising number of words that are not offensive in British English but are swearing in American English and vice-versa. _________________ The Sun has risen and set for millennia.
