I used to hate weekends because they were the (flunked) test of my social success. Ever since I haven't had social success expectations from myself, and since I work for a living and not because it's my hobby, I enjoy the freedom of the weekend. I can smoke when I please rather than during the breaks; I can be my Aspie self and not fret about being found out. I can wear something comfortable and comforting instead of work clothes. I can go out or stay in as I please, move around instead of being stuck in one place till the clock lets me go. I can daydream without having to force myself back to reality. _________________ "It is the wounded oyster that mends its shell with pearl" - Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Weekends are nice since you can do what you want and not have to worry about pleasing anyone.
I never cared about the social stuff and in fact, I didn't consider not going out on a Saturday night a failure. In fact, I preferred staying in since local TV stations often showed cheesy SF movies and Dr. Who on Saturday nights. If I didn't have that stuff to watch, there was always the shortwave radio to listen to, later the computer to dial up BBSes on and the ham radio to talk on.
During my 1st 2 years of college though, I often got dragged to football games by my sister because she all of a sudden decided she wanted to go to them and my parents pressured me to go with her so she wouldn't have to go by herself. I hated all that noise and was often bored out of my mind, and had to deal with her friends whom I had nothing in common with. I was so glad when she finally left home and I was free again to stay hom on Saturday night and do what I wanted to do. _________________ PrisonerSix

| yeah my weekends are usually boring unless i hang with a friend or two. but for the most part that hasn't happened to me. And the one thing about the college (Penn State University) i go to is that there isn't much to do unless you like to go to parties. So if you dont like doing those things then your weekends are boring |

I like weekends, but I hate new years eve, and other days that only exist so that people have an excuse to get morbidly drunk. _________________ WP doesn't have a working first amendment. |

I like weekends, I am able to entertain myself quite well. I don't mind working on weekends either because there are not many people working, so there is alot of peace and quite for me to listen to my iPod as I work. _________________ Humans are intelligent, but that doesn't make them smart. |

| I love weekends, cos I have time to do what I want to do instead of having to go to school and be yelled at by teachers and students alike. I just like the freedom to watch TV, go online, read, write, listen to music, etc. |

I love the weekend, simply because I can stay by myself at home and don't have to see everyone all happy together. I hate seeing people together having fun. _________________ fffffffffffffffff |

Honestly, though I love a good friend I hate socializing. It's a stupid game I don't play. I have no envy for socialites though. _________________ Its is always more difficult to fight against faith than against knowledge. -Adolph Hitler(evil genius)

I like weekends (and days off in general) because I can sleep in, and when I am in the middle of an obsession (such as the new WoW expansion) it gives me time to obsess....but on the other hand I need work to give purpose to my life. Work gives me some place to be and a purpose. There really isn't much of a "me" outside of work. _________________ Quantum Mechanics -- the dreams stuff is made of |
