Already do. It's a biochemical/organic version, more sophisticated than any other that exists, and is called a body. Smile

My body is not a rotting piece of meat. It will only decompose once I've vacated it. Only corpses rot.

Like yours is for you, my body is just a shell, a vessel for my soul. But I plan on taking care of it while I am in occupancy.

Where do you plan to go after shedding your meat puppet thing?

I have experienced out of body events. Though in the physical I intend to hopefully upgrade as technology evolves. Cybernetic implants for sight and sound have already been developed in rudimentary forms. They are being developed to a higher level of precision at present. Earlier this morning I read an article describing how the olfactory sense may be replicated in the near future as well. I am looking forward to the addition of haptic technology so as to relay a deeper sense of realism to the simulations that will likely be available in the very near future.

So you're a transhumanist? Is it your goal to become a frakkin toaster?

I am a transhumanist and my hope would be to become an upload like in Accelerando! Wink

As Popeye might say. "I am what I am and thats all that I am" I do not intend to become a toaster. Honestly I aspire to become a transdimensionalist. A transdimensionalist can be considered to be an ascended being from a relative perspective. If I were a Christian, I would probably say that I want to be like the heavenly father or what ever other label one would choose to apply. This seems to be a natural part of the evolutionary process from my perspective. The created eventually become the creators.

You want to become like God? What leads you to believe this is remotely possible?

That's a blasphemy as far the Church is concerned.

I'd love no longer having to deal with this illness-prone, attention-craving, ugly body and instead exist as uploaded being, actually a pretty good emulation of my former self a Version 2.0. I'd love no longer needing to eat, drink, breathe, exercise, and so on!

Do not put words in other people's mouths, slowmutant.

Indeed, if you said you wanted to be like god, you presumably would be blaspheming. However, Psimulus did not say it.

Personally, I already am god, in all respects that seem relevant to me. I can improve on it, though.

This body is adequate, for a while. I'd like a few spares, then something a little more robust, and after that... well... we'll see what comes next.
