I wonder if the word sh** is related to to the word Shaitan(shaytan) as this is also where we derive the name satan from what I have read. Perhaps this is why it has been considered a curse word. _________________ The infinite Universe is the divine essence. We are of the Universe. |

in scandinavian languages "satan" is actually one of the worst curse words. "sh**" is far less insulting. I don't think they have the same stem though... _________________ I got some bad ideas in my head. (Taxi Driver) |

It seems that you have just added weight to the hypothesis though. _________________ The infinite Universe is the divine essence. We are of the Universe. |

I have a poster in my room that says many of those. You forgot agnosticism: "Is this sh** for real"? _________________ Guns don't kill people. Gunshot wounds kill people. |

The Judaism and Rastafarian ones are the funniest ones. Although, as tongue in cheeck this is intended and obviously a joke without any bad intentions, I fear some people may find this offensive. How about:
REINCARNATION THEORISTS: Different Century, Same sh**
THE CULT OF MITHRAS: Bull-sh**
(Okay, so it may be a little obscure, but I always liked mystery religions)

that's hilarious.
oh yeah, the jewish people are around 15 to 20 million people, it's almost like 0, 0025% of world popullation. But if you list the 100 richest people in the world 15 are jewish. And yeah, they have 35% of world's economy. So sh** doesn't happen to the jewish, they are the ones who do all the sh**. Yes, that's a law of Newton(the physician). And tally man. Taly comes from the hebrew word Talleh which means lamb, I know what what tally means in english, Taly is a possessive and it means MY LAMB. So we kinda have this in common.
"Once someone told a rab, Israel is a little lamb among 70 wolves. The rab asnswered; whatch out who is our pastor".
It was on book.
Atheist: sh** doesn't happen, I am another character of a Kafka book.
I am not an NT sh** happens to me. Why G-d?
LOL, I loved the rastafari and the evangelical.
I am religious myself. Gomene. |

Sa-tan in hebrew means the adversary or the enemy. So anyone who isn't your friend and who is against you is Satan.
And yes in my language Satan is a curse. Actually I don't have " a language" but thinking that I am a latina, Satan is a curse. But in judaism any word that you say will turn against you, so you better not curse anyone. I am jew by birth, christian by choice. |

Which in turn comes from here...

I've seen much longer version of the 'sh** happens' thing on posters and such...

Off topic, but the whole sheep/shepherd metaphor for God and his people (in whatever religion) fascinates me. Because it originated in cultures where people were much more involved with farming, therefore much better acquainted with what the shepherd actually would eventually do with the sheep. He didn't raise them, protect them and rescue them from the wolves for their benefit - quite the opposite. As a metaphor for a loving God, it is, therefore, crucially lacking something IMHO... _________________ Birds scream at the top of their lungs in horrified hellish rage every morning at daybreak to warn us all of the truth but sadly we don't speak bird. |
