I won't be able to smile for days. And people will have to punch me to stop me from saying to whiners 'I told you so'! My entire music collection is in ogg-vorbis or flac.

Digital restrictions management never works for an indefinite time!

I hate itunes. I dont want it installed automatically, with quicktime, and I certainly dont want it changing all my file associations. I dont want the offer of safari each time either. So I removed quicktime entirely.

I briefly considered emailing them to tell them so, but.. oh well.

Bye bye itunes.

Apple's implementation of DRM is actually really lenient, and doesn't require any remote authentication to let you play or listen to the music you've bought. Although I agree that DRM is a horrible, draconian thing and I would rather be without it, I can still, with my purchased iTunes music, copy stuff to CD, move it between computers and do pretty much what I please with it. Just nothing that would be breaking the law in a serious way.
