All of my life I have trouble remembering taking showers and also having the trouble seeing the need to take a shower. For me its kind of unconfortable taking showers but I know I need to take them. So are there anyone can relate to what I'm dealing with?
Thanks,

You need a routine. Forget trying to regard being super clean as important because it won't work, you need to find a reason for having a shower every morning that's logical and makes sense to you. For me, I use my morning shower to wake me up fully. Also, a shower takes just as long as a wash in the morning, plus brushing my teeth at the same time as I shower makes it even more efficient. Then add the fact that having a shower on a cold morning can really warm you up and you suddenly start to see showers as essential.

Yes, I've had to make it part of my 'getting ready for work morning routine'. I don't like showering because it makes me feel different. If I ever have a shower at night, I can't sleep for ages because it takes me a long time to get used to myself again. I only shower because I know I'll stink and offend other people if I don't.
Weekends, when I don't have to go through my normal routine, are a bit of a problem . |

Can you take a bath instead?
I hated showering as a kid because I hated water going over my head and I had fear of water going in my ears. So I preferred baths but hated having my hair washed until my mother found a way of doing it. _________________ http://www.factcheck.org/

I used to have a lot of problems with this, because I was always reluctant to get wet, so I could never decide whether to go for it or not. Eventually I got a bunch of grooming/style books out of the library, and made a vow to have a shower every morning whether I needed it or not (it was deciding whether I needed one or not that was the killer). So now I just tune out the sensory issues and go for it. I also decided to wet/wash my hair every day whether I needed it or not, too.
I've noticed though that how I eat has more to do with how I smell than whether I shower or not . . . |

i also have this problem... but i have more of a problem with it than just remembering... because i'm very OCD when i take a shower... and my shower routine takes about an hour to complete... so, finding time to shower is also an issue. unfortunately, i usually only end up showering once a week on Saturday mornings, before going to church. _________________ -nicky

I don't shower every day because of this. I just can't. I dunno.. something about my skin and how it feels afterwards. I don't like being wet. I had trouble as a kid and always got grounded because I didn't shower when I was supposed to. I went to great lengths to avoid it.
As an adult I've noticed that even though I look clean and I smell fine... if people find out I don't shower daily, they think I'm weird. If I DO happen to shower two days in a row, my skin totally dries out. |

Yea, I hate showering. Though I was cursed with the family greasy hair, I still put them off as long as possible.
The only times I'm guarenteed to be in the shower is before work, and thats only if I don't snooze too long. And when I smell. Then I'm definitly in there! _________________ The two loudest sounds in the world are a click when you should hear a bang, and a bang when you should hear a click.

The OP never made any such excuse or statement, as far as I can see, and latter responses talk about they've overcome and dealt with issue... care to share where you find these excuses? Not showering on a daily basis does not make someone dirty, LPP.

| I have problems showering because showers make me feel claustrophobic. Also, I just don't place that much importance on them. Something that helps me shower is thinking of it as a way to relax rather than a way to get clean. |

I don't shower every day anymore because there is no need to. I did during the summer because I sweat. But now I don't need to anymore because it's not hot out. I am not using my condition as an excuse to not to. I am choosing to not do it everyday. I am still clean. If I smelled or sweat, then I would shower, even if I showered the day before. _________________ http://www.factcheck.org/

Yet, that isn't what is being discussed - most addressed showering between 3-5 times a week, and one at once a week. Nothing on the scale you're suggesting. Also, there is the option of a bath, which is not being addressed. Not keeping one's self clean is unhygenic and and can be quite unpleasant, but to stay clean there isn't a mandate of daily showering.
