Who Else Thinks That Games Campaign Modes Are Getting Shorter And Shorter? I May Be Wrong, But Halo 3 Has Only 9 Levels. Now, For The Game Which Finished A Great Series, It Should Have Had At Least 20-45 Levels. Some May Think Thats Too Long, But With Certain Vehicles And Weapons The Gameplay Could Be More Fun. Call Of Duty 4 Took Me Nothing Short Of Two Days To Complete. That Could Have At Least Been A Week's Worth Of Levels.

If There Is A Reason For Shortness Of Games, I Dont Mind. I Understand They Are Doing What They Can, Especially With The Film Going On.

I do think they're getting shorter. I talked about it in this thread: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt66207.html

because next gen consoles are specifically designed for better online capabilities so that is usually what most of the ps3 and 360 games focus on

I think 20-45 levels is a bit much for anything other than a puzzle or platform type game. I would have prefered that Halo3 had 15 levels (like Halo2) and/or longer levels. The first 5 levels were short and the last level was really short.

I thought Bioshock (X360) was a brilliant game and about the right length. I can't recall how many levels it had but I think it was around 10-12 if you count the short levels.

EDIT: typo

20-45 Levels May Have Been A bit Much, But If They Keep Up Variations And Differentials Of Levels, You Wont Notice. Bioshcok Sounds To Be A Good Game And Im Looking Forward To Playing. Thats Incredibly Short-Sighted Of Sony And Microsoft If They Focus Mostly On Online Efforts.

It's hardly worth the $50 anymore. I also finished COD 4 in only two days... it's the shortest one yet.

I immediately thought of Dungeons & Dragons...some of those campaigns can drag on for weeks upon weeks @_@

It would not surprise me if this is partially budget issues. Big blockbuster games are rather expensive to make now compared to in the past. Although more than that, it's probably just good business...

I agree that games are getting shorter, but I prefer them that way. Challenging FPS games are better short and there's more time for online play. Also, some games can get kind of boring if they are too long.

I do think though, that RPGs should be long and adventure games. Devil May Cry 4 was kind of short to be a RPG.

I don't know about RPG's... I think some of them are meant to be "endless"... but when it comes to FPS's, is it really worth $50 if I can beat it in only a day or two when it used to provide an entire week of gaming? And being so short doesn't give it very much replay value, since I can memorize the entire game pretty fast. I really don't like this turn of events.

Challenging Games Should Be Short Because They Take Rather A Time To Complete Levels. RPG's Are Sort Of "Endless" Depending On Which Context You Use.
