anyone here besides me into finding and listening to obscure music, especially obscure genres? i dont only listen to obscure music, but i have found that imo most mainstream music gets way too boring and repetitive, so i find sources for other music such as Soulseek, a filesharing program. i am also a member of the rocktoons.com forum, which is also a place i look. sometimes i'll even listen to MusicChoice on cable.

probably my favorite band of the moment is The Number Twelve Looks Like You, who are like a mix of hardcore, grindcore, metal, and screamo. they are very unique and experimental. i guess you could call them "technical" in some areas.

I'm a big fan of both Sludge and grind and most other types of metal and hardcore. I've a bit of number 12 looks like you, on a underground sampler, but I never got round to purchasing or DLing their album. I'm into underground metal and hardcore as it offers a sense of brutality, bleakness and harshness that commerical music simply can't offer. I still like commerical music though as it has a sense of melody and catchiness and I like. I'll happily listen to Kaiser Chiefs and then Burzum side by side if you know what I mean.

my favourite Sludge bands are

Mistress
Cult of Luna
Godflesh
Crowbar
Uphill Battle

and my favourite grind bands are

Terrorizer
Napalm Death
Carcass
f**k the Facts
Lock Up

what do you think of black and death metal BTW?

oh yeah i have some Corrupted songs on my computer. split with Noothgrush, splits with Sloth (the Ohio one), ...and a 4-way split with Noothgrush, Bongzilla, and Dystopia. i did download one non-split album with a really long name, but i got tired of it because it was only some sludge and mostly ambience. not the good kind of ambience either Sad. i really like their sludgy stuff though.
