Unfortunately, that kind of request is good at scaring women off. We think the next question will be, What are you wearing?, and then go on to stalking and harassment.

I'm married.
You need to post some more info so people have something to go on.
Do you mean just friends, or for potentially dating?
If just friends, why only females?
If for dating, how old are you, what are some of your interests, things like that.

A LOT of people on here are aspie and female, give them some info.

There is also a Friends and Social Interaction Folder if you're just looking for friends.

What sort of weird response is that to a serious request? I dont believe that you are an aspie. If you were, you would know that an aspie knows no other way to find a potential partner than to be direct and tell that they want a girlfriend. I find such an answer deeply offensive!

Then I'd stay out of the Love And Dating section. This is the place where those of us with experience help out those without it, which is all lelia was doing.

All she did was to spread prejudices. I would compare her remarks to racism!

Then I'd suggest you need to get out more. I think casual conversation with other people might open your eyes if you think what she said is so offensive.

Well, I would NOT say that such a remark from a person that knows nothing about Asperger would be morally wrong, that would just show lack of knowledge. But when people that takes part in a discussions on this forum (people that I would expect have some knowledge about Asperger) comes with such remarks, they would clearly be an example of picking on the weak.

Okay, so:

- Someone with Asperger's makes a post.
- Someone else who knows about Asperger's, and is a woman, makes a post to try and help that person out, by pointing out why it's not especially appealing.
- They are therefore prejudiced?

That makes no sense. She was trying to help.

Unfortunately, when a girl posts such thread requesting to make friends with guys , no girl accuses her of being a potential sexual harasser and no man finds it offensive.

And when a guy posts a similar thread , there's ALWAYS women like you who say things like: "Ewww, what a desperate/sexual creep" and some Men say :"Ewwww..what a loser"

Personally, I find those threads as useless and desperate ....

Yes, it really is good at scaring women off. I mean, are you only looking for someone to talk to and be friends with, or what?

That was really really dumb of you. You have no right to go around questioning people's diagnoses. It's not Okay. She had every right to explain to him that he might be scaring women off. she did so in a calm, rational manner, and you seem to be intent on stirring up trouble.

I cant really see that there was any help there. She did not come up with any alternative strategy. Besides, fortunately I think there are few people who have such ideas like her. This is normally people that are not the most sympathic. I believe most women are more sensitive and nice than this person. What she wrote was discriminating to men in general, and aspie men in particular. Women in general are not that prejudiced, of that I am certain!
