Ved ikke om jeg synes han er så skræmmende... vist mest bare grim...  men på den anden side: Alt uventet, der springer op, er skræmmende - i hvert fald å æ spektrum... ("på spektret" på vestjysk). |

In Danish, we say about something very expensive, that "it costs the white out of the eyes". (Det koster det hvide ud af øjnene).
We also can say (apropos inches, fingers, arms etc.) "give somebody a finger, and he takes the whole arm". |
