I love the original 1959-1964 Twilight Zone and to some extent the 80's version. Rod Serling is a genius, that's why he has/had the record for most Writing Emmy Awards. This thread should be for everything Zone related.
Firstly, my favourite episode is The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street. The interaction of the neighbours and their frenzy says as much about the cold war in the 60s as it does about terrorism today. I think that's what's so great about the writing. Although it has an excellent sci-fi/fantasy theme, it essays serious issues.
I read the biography on Serling 'Television's Last Angry Man' last year, it was excellent. Anyone else got any comments on the Zone? Go nuts |

I used to work 7p to 12m. When I would get off at Midnight, I would catch the nightly "Twilight Zone" marathon on cable. I also enjoyed Rod Serling's "Night Gallery", with my favorite episode being "The Big Surprise"....excellent stuff. _________________ Onward Through The Fog!

I paid $500 Australia to get them shipped over from USA. It was well worth it though, I watch them all the time. I'd have to say it's the best show ever. |

| I think every wionter vacation I watch about half the series on the SciFi channel while they do their new year's coutdown twilight zone marathon. Lots of good shows. I want to see the one with the girl who doesn't speak and is therefore psychic; I've only seen bits of it and read bits of the story it was based on. |

That episode is called Mute and was from the 4th season when they went to 1 hour episodes. It was probably one of the better ones from that season. Sorry for that slow reply, I hadn't check this thread for a bit. |

I like the remakes for both the twilight zone and the outer limits. I never really got to watch the originals much. I did like tales of the unexpected (with the fiery dancy lady). _________________ www.letsmakeamovie.co.uk - if we don't make it, then we are just an movie that couldn't be bothered to happen. I remember loadsa episodes but I can't remember which show they came from.... perhaps you guys can...
1. A bloke slowly forgets how to read. Words start swapping around until everyone around him starts talking nonsense. In the end he has to pick up his 3 year olds learn to read book and start all over again.
2. A woman realises she has the power to pause time with her remote. Unfortunately right at the end she has to pause time forever because someone send a nuclear bomb to her town. It is just about to explode.
3. A woman helps this young boy, who takes her home with him. His family is reallly weird... and the mother is really frightened when she looks in the oven to see whats for dinner. His sister upsets him and her mouth disapears. Turns out this kid can do anything he wants (like god). He destroys everything to nothingness apart from him and the lady.
4. A girl gets this doll house and somehow they get trapped in it.
There are loads more - just ones that come to mind at the moment. _________________ www.letsmakeamovie.co.uk - if we don't make it, then we are just an movie that couldn't be bothered to happen. Indifference is a virtue....

| I think The Grave is underrated, it's a clever twist on a classic. |

Yes I didn't mind the grave, it's just that for me personally, the ending was kind of a let down. I liked Lee Marvin's character in it though, he was excellent in Steel as well. _________________ Laugh amongst the dust and cobwebs... |

Gah, I wish I could get a Region 4 copy of the Twilight Zone movie here. I'm thinking perhaps of ordering The 80's Twilight Zone boxsets and the movie from the US of A. _________________ Laugh amongst the dust and cobwebs... |
