I (thankfully) have never seen someone else vomit, but if I hear that someone else is feeling/has been sick, I have a panic attack and become convinced that I am going to 'catch' something that will make me sick. Sometimes I run away from the situation. I get extremely distressed to the point that I even cut myself or scream. I don't know why this happens though.

What I don't get is what do you do when you see someone vomit, what do you do? Do you vomit yourself or cry or...?

It depends. On the worst of times I can get very very panicky. And I shake, cry, curl up in a ball, close my eyes/ears so i don't have to witness what's going on, I lose my appetite for the whole day. Although if I'm in public and I don't know the person that's throwing up I just shudder a bit and move on.

Edit: also if someone says they feel sick I'm on edge and very panicky and look at them every 2 seconds to see if they're alright, I also avoid the person, and if we're in a place like a car and I can't avoid them I lean away and look out the window. If someone has been sick before I get paranoid that I'd catch something. I thankfully haven't been sick myself since I was 9 but I'm still often on edge about when I will.

That is very interesting. I have those exact same fears! (plus 123 others...) Just out of curiosity, did something happen when you were young that could have caused your emetophobia because I was told it is often brought on by a childhood memory of yourself or someone else being severely ill. My mum has Menieres disease which makes her dizzy and sick and I'm sure this is where mine came from.

For me it was when I was in playgroup and this little girl would have massive tantrums and she'd purposly make her self sick for attention. My mum told me I used to stare at her in horror, so that's where it probably came from. If that girl hadn't have been in my playgroup I might not have had that phobia right now, and I really hate it and it is really bad, I heard you can get phobias hypnotised out of you, I want that also for my moth and daddy-long leg phobias.

That's interesting. Not to mention the fact that EVERYTHING you described about being in a situation with your phobia is EXACTLY how I feel/react, all apart from the not being bothered if it is a stranger bit. For some reason even that REALLY gets to me. I too hope to get hypnotherapy one day, but only for my more severe phobias. I just get squeaky when I see a crane fly...

Yeah my dad suggested getting hypnotised to me a few weeks ago over my severe social anxiety (at first I thought he was joking but turns out he wasn't) but I think that this is masking a part of yourself and and is making you "no longer you" if you know what I mean. I would rather not do this which why I'll probably get counselling/psychologist or whatever the other option is.

I don't enjoy vomiting at all and when I see other people vomting I look the other way but I'm not scared of it in any way (does make me feel uncomfortable though). I'm rather squeamish however, when I se someone cut themselves or get blood drawn out of them through I needle I go all dizzy and light-headed and I want to faint. (I fainted in school once because my science teacher was doing a demonstration of what happens when someone has high blood pressure and also a stroke). eew

Acrophobia, claustrophobia, fear of moths (furry things shouldn't fly!), anything that makes a sharp squealing sound (like nails on a blackboard or metal on metal, it makes me want to bite my fingers off) and being totally alone (strange for an aspie, eh?).

I suffer from trypanophobia, which means that I am afraid of needles. It's just the needle that freaks me out- not the vaccine. I had a blood test ages ago and it was terrifying. Needles to say, I panicked, cried, squirmed, screamed and ended up having this horrible bruise running up and down my arm.

I used to get panic attacks whenever I smelled certain smells. I remember my first visit to my old school's science department and it stank of iodine solution. This led to my second panic attack that week. Tech class was the worse for this because it combined horrible noises, deadly machines, bad smells, people I don't trust and those horrible school lights. I've ran out of that class a number of times. It lead to me avoiding these things and freaking out whenever I suspected I'd have to deal with it again. Good thing I had support in class to help me overcome this.

Agoraphobia, arachnophobia, and the fear of heights, but only when I am moving down a slope. It comes from my bad eye/body coordination, I fall very often down slopy paths for not seeing the real floor's configuration in front of my feet.

Fire, needles/injections, corrosive/poisonous chemicals, bicycles, large dogs, walking into dark rooms alone, heights, guns, small spaces, getting in trouble, failing, being impaled, PSAs/PIFs, the sound of an air raid siren...

I think I got most of them.

My worst life changing phobia is Social Phobia/Anxiety. Another big fear I have is Claustrophobia (I flinch at the thought of either squeezing through a tunnel or dying).

SPIDERS!!! And other bugs, but mainly spiders.
I think they're cool as hell, awesome creatures. But only on animal planet. In real life they make me scream like a little girl and cuss like a sailor. Not too long ago I had two extremely large spiders crawl on my bare skin in a single day. I refused to go back in my house until night. and i fell asleep sitting in the mmiddle of my bed, after sitting there for 2 hours checking every inch of my bed every 10 or 20 seconds, and scanning my walls ceiling and floor.
also I tend to get somewhat paranoid in the dark, but I wouldn't call it a phobia. or even a fear.
