If it turns out you don't really have Asperger's syndrome or a related pervasive developmental disorder, what psychiatric disorder would you most want to be the cause of your maladjustment?

OC personality disordeer. Sure, I'd be alone and lonely because nobody could stand me, but I'd still be career-driven.

Sociopath. I feel emotions just fine, but not spontaneously. Any emotions i feel are real reasonable. If my father died due to faulty engineering in a car that the engineers were aware of i wouldnt go on some campaign to make cars safer, and i do like my dad a lot. People say things like, "Yeah, well if you were in such in such situation you'd feel different about it." Say terrorists kill someone i love. I wont be paranoid about terrorism strikes the rest of my life, and consider terrorism any more of a problem than it already is. I won't feel differently if it happened to me. If somebody dies in a funny way, i'd be laughing on the way to my death in that same situation. When someone gets injured in a funny way, i laugh at my self when i injur myself in a funny way.

Some combination of obsessive compulsive behaviour, extreme introversion and possibly mild ADHD. This would be realistically. I don't know about idealistically because I am not idealistic right now. Neutral

A head injury. At least you can't blame that one on poor parenting or not trying hard enough. Rolling Eyes

I don't think there is a disorder which describes what i believe myself to be if i am not AS. I am a Deliberate Mindful Deviant. I have a natural inclination to deviate from the normal pattern. Including that pattern.

This may need some explanation. How can you feel emotions just fine but not spontaneously? Do you have to make the conscious decision to feel an emotion before you feel it? Can you choose to feel whatever emotion you want at will? Are you sure psychopaths experience emotion in the way you describe?

I wouldn't want any of them to be the cause of my problems... I'd want to make my problems go away completely

I guess you'd like to have your problems all be caused by Passive-Agressive Personality Disorder huh?

Hmm. I was diagnosed with both AS and ADHD. That makes answering the poll difficult, as the most likely non-AS diagnosis on the list is one I've already received.

I would be one of those people that hangs out with cheerleaders and jocks.

But to be honest I would not want any of those. I am who I am, and don't need an excuse.
