Do you guys notice that your ASD symptoms are more pronounced when on drugs for your ADHD?
I'm so cold and calculating when on drugs, to the point where i over analyze everything and can't actually understand social cues.
When not on drugs I seem to have a right-brained reaction to everything around me, especially social situations (unfortunately I always say the wrong thing) and rarely analyze anything. I find it easier to recognize a smile, and understand that means happy/good.
I usually blurt stuff out when not on meds, but when on meds I rarely say anything and often don't even respond to someone saying hello to me because i'm too busy thinking about what that means... |

Sounds like you might be taking a sorta high dose. Are you on extended release stimulant meds?
I am having a hard time being objective about it...but I think certain AS symptoms seem more pronounced when I try to skip the meds....and certain symptoms are more more pronounced when I am on the meds.
When I skip the meds...after a while I start acting like a cranky 5 year old...When I am on the meds I am more prone to hyperfocus (often not on what I am supposed to be doing) and lose all track of time..I do think certain sensory issues might be more pronounced...either way.
I am normally not a very "serious" AS person..I am very childlike and stimmy and babbly and sing-song silly. The ADD meds def. make me more serious..but not cold and calculating.
I try to take just enough Adderall to knock the fog out of my head so that I can hopefully get more accomplished without freezing up/shutting down etc...
I had feelings more like the ones you described when I was on AdderallXR...that stuff literally made me crrrazy
Hmmm...now that you mention it..I might have a rougher than usual time going through the motions of interacting with my customers...I can tend to be a lot more flat and disconnected with them..whereas when not on meds..it might be somewhat easier to be nice and "play bartender" a little bit...( I am sort of the bartender at the venue I help run)
ADD meds certainly don't make me more social.. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/MsPuppetrina
