Anyone know where I could get good homework help? Because I'm really struggling with a certain part of Algebra and my teachers aren't helping.
Thanks! _________________

Basically, let me put up a certain problem:
5/3 + 2/3x = 25/12 + 5/4x + 3/4. Find x.
I know that with those kinds of problems, I have to find the common factor (12, in this case, right?) and multiply both sides by it, but it's hard to do because of the format my book's in. The numbers and letters become jumbled up in my head and it's hard to read for more than a couple seconds before it becomes confusing. _________________

Hi,
I can help with the math part - but you seem too have a problem with the book too ( I find shiney pages intollerable).
This is what my ADA aide sugguested in the university:
Xerox the pages onto dull paper
If the rest of the page bothers you, cut out the problem with a sissors and put it on a clean sheet.
Identify probable solution path/approach in my mind
Then write dow the first step in the series that is simple looking (For example I'd get rid of the bottom part of each number mentally then write it out. 20+8x=25+ 15x+9
Finally isolate the x on one side (I'd do in my head and write out when the picture is complete) -7x =14 |

The shiny paper is part of the problem? Really? I thought it was just the font. Hmm... thanks! I'll copy it on the school's deluxe copier tomorrow! _________________

Thanks for your help, venom! I actually get the gist of it now!
Too bad I've still got a lot of work to do... doesn't really matter, though, I'll do what I can now and then finish it up in tutorial period.
I don't know what I'd do without block scheduling. Tutorial is a gift from God, I sware. _________________

Hi,
If the font is a problem too (I hate serif fonts) ask the school to get your homework on dingy paper in a sans serif font. Seems like a reasonable accomodation.
At the UW they did this all the time for dyslexics |
