| Second that, I love Sufjan Stevens and I think the full title to the song you mentioned is: "To the Workers of the Rockford River Valley Region, I Have an Idea Concerning Your Predicament, and it Involves Shoe String, a Lavender Garland, and Twelve Strong Women", probably his longest song title. |

Back in the 1960s and 1970s, there was a trend in what was called the "New Wave" in science fiction to come up with reallllly long titles. One example comes to mind: "The Wine Has Been Left Open Too Long, And The Memory Has Gone Flat" by Harlan Ellison.
I know there were some long titles in a lot of progressive rock songs from that same period, but I can't remember any of them. And I don't even have the excuse that I was alive and partying during that period (I was alive but just a toddler then).
The ones I can remember:
Spiritualized--Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space
King Crimson--In The Court Of The Crimson King (including The Dance of the Fire Witch)
Best I can do. |

Obviously, Spiritualized weren't around during the Sixties either.
Just look at any Yes, King Crimson, speed metal or grindcore album, you'll find 'em. |
