So after several months, I'm back. Anyways, I haven't had a good friend in 2-3 years now. I want to get to know at least one person well by the end of the school year, so we can regularly visit each other's houses, go to social events, ect. I'm currently in the 11th grade, by the way. In my school, I'm now in art club and swimming in terms of extracurriculars at the moment. There's only one person that I talk with there, her name's Carla. I sit with her at lunch, too. I've known her remotely for five years. In terms of everyone else, they are either total idiots or they are always talking with some other person, so I can never talk to them. There was another kid that I talked a lot with there too, his name's Lawton. But one day, when I told him about an accident where a classmate of mine got hit by a car that I witnessed with my own eyes in January 08, he laughed out loud and called the guy an idiot. I stopped talking to him after that. With swimming, no one is really interested in what I have to say. In fact, there is another Aspie, but when I try to tell him something to do with Autism, or anything for that matter, he says he "doesn't care"! Swimming ends in a week, btw. Art club ends at the end of the school year.

I might/might not join anime club. Carla's going to be there, as she is the head of the club, I think. In my school classes, I talk with the people that sit around me in a very casual manner.

So how can I get to know at least one person well by the end of the school year, so we can regularly visit each other's houses, go to social events, ect? The end of the school year is after the first week of June, and I really want to do it because I will be bored for the third summer in a row if I don't.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Superyuval10

Also, Anyone here in the Lansing/East Lansing MI area? Anyone use Ubuntu Linux? Just wondering

high school is brutal. you will have such an easier time finding a friend to visit each others homes and hang out after you graduate. but if you in eleventh grade you should look for kids who are much of the time alone and do not talk much and who do not smoke/drink/dress like punks/emos/gangster types/etc. these are all losers. invite that lonely kid to go to the theater together and just go. that kind of worked for me in high school and i still email and call with these kids four years after high school Smile

I've just started high school, and I've actually found it easier to communicate with people and so on. Weird...

L2S, I just realized that if I do get to know someone, there is a risk that we could fight all of the time. I'm probably going to go the rest of my high school years without a best friend, taking advice from here. Here is a good page on how to meet people.

You;re lucky to have such a club at your high school. They never had any video game or anime clubs at mine when I went. The only club I was interested in was the art club, which did not lost very long...

whatever you do remember that after high school things get sooo much better - that is of course if you are successful, like i was, in not trying drugs/alcohol/tobacco - these things are addictive and break people's lives.
