Unlike everyone else I have to deal with on a daily basis, whether if it's at school, work, or even on the internet, who's with me?

P.S.: I have nothing against you guys on here telling about them, either.

I agree, it's cos I'm 13 so I ain't allowed to make my own decisions. The minute I turn 18 my life will be as awesome as I want it to be, I hope.

I feel the same way, too, and I'm 17.

What's gonna change when you guys turn 18?

I vaguely remember thinking the same thing, how amazing it would be when I finally turned 18 and would be free. Then it happened and nothing much really changed. Ok so now I have a car and I don't live with my parents, but I still have to get up each day to go to work and things like that.

I can stay out as late as I want now - which is nice - but then so can everyone I know, so basically it's all the same again. Having a car is nice but it just means all your friends live miles away and you spend just as long travelling to see them. At least at school all my friends lived close by. I don't feel much more free now than I did when I was 13 or 17 - and at least you guys get home-cooked meals and your laundry done for you!

For me, it's right now:

Go to college
Get a paid job (which I'm currently doing right now, even in this bad economy).
To actually have an active social life.

17 years old, no friends, and I still haven't been outside the Scandinavian Peninsula. For Pete's sake, how depressing.

Scandinavia is beautiful though, there are much worse places to spend you're life.

Anyway I'm 23 and I also have a very uneventful life, I'm studying from home have a few friends but not many and spend most of my days sitting at home reading.

But it wasn't always this way. I used to go out to raves every weekend, be very social, take a lot of drugs, have a lot of friends, travel a lot, and go to lots of big exciting political demonstrations. And there is something to be said for all that if you haven't tried it. But overall I'm much happier with my life as it is now. I like the fact that everything is calm and relaxing, familiar. When I was busy leading an exciting life I was actually quite depressed and unsure of myself, now I'm calm and happy if a little bored sometimes.

What I'm saying is that if some of you did have the exciting lives you wished you had you might well end up longing for the days when everything was simple and boring. So try not to be depressed about it, there a lot of people in the world who would be envious of you're lives. Very Happy

I've always wanted to go to political demonstrations! My parents won't let me because it would mean my brother would have to go too, and that's "not fair on him" (but dragging me on a week-long trip to Plymouth looking at boring navy ships because he wanted to is fair play, apparently). I could have been on the news if they'd let me go to the Greenpeace protest against coal power. That would be so cool!

This one time I went to the ballet in Scarborough and before we went in Tony Blair went by in his limo, and there were protestors at the side of the road, so I rang up my friend to say how awesome it was, and I accidentally fell over the police line and this police officer got pissed off and swatted me back over the line. That is officially the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me.

From 13 until 19 it feels as though virtually nothing has changed about my life. I used to go through depression a bit more though in my younger teen years. As you get older you start feeling a little less stressed, and less helpless, because all those hormones stop raging.
