-The feeling of paper
-These cleaning towels that we use at work that feel rough
-Popular/wanna be gangsta rap music (when I am in a good mood, I can feel my body getting really hot and pressure building... I really can't stand the sound, and it makes me feel mad)
=Meat and other non-gum things that you chew so long it's soggy but you still can't swallow it... I used to have to eat stuff like this as a kid and spit it out in private.
-When I have hairs stuck on me or in my mouth
-Cold (and I get cold easily, which makes it worse)
-Having something slimy or sticky on my hands (like lotion or food sauces)
-Kids screaming or whining
-The sound of certain dogs when they bark
-When I bump into things too hard, usually corners... hurts a lot more than when I accidentally cut myself and bleed
-Tags in shirts
-PDAs... I looks away, even usually in movies :oops:Makes me feel awkward.
-When any hair gets in my face
Oh yeah, and pencil lead on my hand.... unfortunately, as I'm predominately a lefty, it happens quite often ):
And the feeling of chalk and chalk boards. |

Heat with humidity, where you pour sweat just from walking around.
Scratchy shirt tags--seems to be a universal hate!
Crying babies--yet another one.
Certain kinds of laughter can be worse than nails on a chalkboard.
Cooked vegetables that are mushy. I hate cooked spinach (but love it raw).
Fluorescent lighting
Loud neighbor sounds (music, banging/thumping, yelling, whatever--don't want to hear it!!!)
Being itchy
Someone putting their hand on my back or shoulder when I'm not ready for it.
Loud cars/trucks/motorcycles
Anyone wearing a ton of perfume or cologne. Makes me feel like I can't breathe.
Anyone who doesn't bathe. Bad B.O. makes me nauseous. |

Hmm, I'd have to go with,
Really loud music (seems to make my stomach hurt.)
Any sound with a very very low pitch.
Velvet (makes me involuntarily shiver.)
That's all that come to mind, really. |

My Least Favorite Sensations:
Loud music, films, or TV
Screaming, especially women and children (don't mean to sound sexist, but men for some reason don't bother me as much)
Dogs barking
Polyester or any other rough fabric
Water, particularly cold water, on my skin
The colors yellow and pink (just painful to even look at)
Being touched or tickled
Babies crying
Any weather above about 75 degrees Fahrenheit
Loud engines
Sudden loud noises of any kind |

Mushy food (like beans, cooked veggies, really soft chicken cubes with sauce...) makes me vomit.
Sun is highly annoying (in fact I am trying to improve my ecolocation so I can walk in the street with my eyes closed all the time... Now I can only walk with my eyes closed sometimes...), depending on the time of the day and the surface (like something 50% gray or whiter), it is even painfull.
Sun on my skin is highly annoying too (when I was a kid I enjoyd it, now I feel that it is burning).
Sticky stuff (like when you ate a sweet stuff, and now your fingers are sticky, and when you touch something you feel it sticking there...), when I am sticky I get a urge to wash it, in fact once I managed to touch superglue, altough it was not supposed to go off the skin for like a month, it irritated me so much that I managed to remove it in a single hour (and a minor amount of skin, causing pain, but I prefered the pain than the sticky stuff).
For some reason I don't find pain really displeasurable, usually in fact I completly ignore pain, the few exceptions are non-ignorable pain (like a deep cut, or a really strong impact, or broken bones...)
When I was younger I hated "mentol" stuff and its effects (like that Vick stuff that people use in child to make the airflow better, or those sweets and tothbrushes that have a "cold" feeling.... Now I ignore it too (like pain). Altough I still remember how I dislike it, so I avoid it. |

- Tight clothing -- I wear almost exclusively skirts and dresses that drift away from my body when it's warm enough, and wide-leg trousers or loose jeans when it's cold. (My husband wishes I would wear tight clothing, but that's never going to happen.)
- Filing my nails. I clip them (and sometimes bite them).
- Dry skin; I keep lotion all over the house (both bathrooms, the kitchen, my bedside table, my study, and the living room all have lotion in them; I also keep two small tubes in my purse along with hand sanitizer).
- Grocery stores. Too loud, too bright, too crowded, too many things to process. Very anxiety-inducing. I do my shopping at a farmer's market -- far away, but going to the butcher, the baker, the greengrocer, etc. is very pleasant for me.
- Wool...but I am allergic to it, so that's probably a large part of why it feels so unpleasant to me
- Eye contact
- Being touched by people I do not know...I somehow seem to have fallen in with a very touchy-feely group out here and have to concetrate on not flinching when people hug me. |
I'm with you on cold, tight clothing, grocery stores, eye contact, and being touched by people.
I'm already wearing long johns and it's just October. In the summer it can be 100 degrees and I love to be outside in it, while everyone else is inside in front of the air conditioner. I also hate fans blowing on me.
Elastic in clothing is my enemy!
I have a real hard time making eye contact when someone is talking to me. It's weird though, I don't have a problem making eye contact if that person isn't talking to me. I've been told though, by some NTs, that it is kinda creepy to do that.
I have people that I've worked with that come up behind me while I'm working at my desk and feel it necessary to put a hand on my shoulder while they talk to me. If they leave their hand there too long, I become physically ill.
PS-Rose in Winter, I'm in KC too. Well, a suburb of KC anyway. _________________ Why is everyone laughing? |

Wow, what an awesome frikkin' thread.
Mine are:
Food that reminds me of pus, like sour cream;
the sounds of someone chewing food...oh dear God that's unbearable;
country and jazz music which make me nauseous;
burnt orange and puke yellow;
and the popular favorite, nails on a blackboard. |

Chalk is a mild one for me.
Long nails drive me nuts, monotone voices, people brushing up against me or touching/hugging me without warning (my mom is the only exception, I'm very touchy with her), lukewarm showers (which I have to take because of my low blood pressure), hot water when it isn't a shower (I have to wash my hands in ice cold water). The absolute worse sound is corn being shucked, I have to plug my ears and leave if I hear corn being shucked. _________________ Even if you feel like you cannot walk anymore, that your legs are tired and there's a snowstorm out, you need to keep walking. Washing my face.
I can only do it in the shower, when all of me is wet. _________________ "The winds of change consume the land while we remain in the shadow of summers now past" - Dead Can Dance
