I think that I recall seeing a photograph of Einstein's closet. It contains about 20 pairs of identical pants, 20 identical shirts and 20 jackets to go with.

My closet is much the same. I have about 20 grey colored shirts/sweaters, 20 pairs of beige or khaki colorerd pants and a healthy stock of my favorite shoes. I won't need new black boots for several years to come. I also have a black sock drawer that is difficult to close. At first it was accidental that my closet was filled with identical pieces but after getting out of high school and away from its social pressures I decided that the daily uniform was the way to go. I don't like thinking about clothes too much. I do like fine fabrics though.

I write this because I am curious about the closets of the people posting on this site. Whether Einstein was an Aspie or not, I would like to no if there are other uniform wearing Aspies out there.

I would also like to mention that I was not always this way. In the middle school years, if I was able to choose my clothes I would always find the most bizzarre clothing. Clothes with patches or different textures stiched together. Or weird colors that I was not used to seeing people wear. When I wore these clothes to school I would get made fun of and never wear them again. I have a sister that is 3 years older than myself and she was a great aid in finding me socially acceptable clothes to wear. I think that it is interesting that now I choose to wear the same thing everyday.

A recent problem is that I have been buying Banana Republic, Flat Front, Emerson Style, beige/tundra or khaki colored, Chinos for maybe 10 or more years. They have been discontinued, I found at a few weeks ago. So I got onto to their website and ordered every last pair in the two colors that I find acceptable. I am very worried about switching to a different brand about 6 years from now. I guess I can make the change eventually. "K-mart Sucks" like Raymon learned.

So again, I would like to know about your closets, whether they have clothes in them or not. Or how you feel about clothes in general.

Finally, if you are wondering why I like those pants, it is because the are simple and plain. They have only a small label on them and really don't give a brand name appearance. That is one taste that has not changed over time. I hate commercial labels. A hate T-Shirts with logos. I don't understand how people can wear advertisements. I may want your attention and I don't want you to think something about me because of my clothes. My appearence is "blah." If you want to know me then you will just have to ask. I laugh (don't understand why) at grown adults that wear professional sports jerseys of there favorite players. I'll stop now.

I detest clothes, and would probably adopt a daily uniform as well if not for social pressures. In particular I detest tight and otherwise uncomfortable or inconvenient clothes, which are unfortunately more acceptable as female attire than the baggy, sexless rags I prefer.

It's made up mostly of boxes, books, and board games, although I also keep my pants and stuff in there, and some rolled-up posters. My closet's big, but not walk-in. Why so big? Because that's where the entrance to the attic is! I've never actually been up in the attic, but one time I took a peek (and that was before all that stuff went into the closet).

And no, I don't dress in daily uniform, but all my clothes (well, most of them) are loose, cool (literally), and comfortable. I don't understand why other (mostly NT) girls wear those tight clothes with all that stuff (glitter, sequins, rhinestones, etc.) on them that show off your belly buttons and stuff like that. I don't think I'd be comfortable in those clothes! If they stopped making the clothes I like for girls, I'd start wearing my dad's clothes! (Yes, I don't care about how I look like, but that's another story.)

I do not really pay attention to clothes. In fact, I do not like them. Although I am a girl, I dress like a boy because it is more comfortable and less tight that what girls wear. My style is very casual. When I was younger, I used to have similar clothes, like two identical sweatshirts except they were not the same color. Now, I no longer do it.

I wear pretty much jeans and a plain-colored t-shirt every day (I don't like wearing shirts with logos or anything on em). I have mostly black shirts, since that's what I prefer to wear, but my mom got me some colored t-shirts, insisting I should have some variety, so I wear those too.

My clothes is based around some basic fundamentals but allows for easy mixing and matching. I have a closet full of Thai silk shirts sharing the same structural form -- I usually wear black pants, and as we know anything goes with black, so I just put one on quickly and go about the rest of my day. I suppose this, along with my wild hair and my neon jacket, constitutes a type of "uniform" as it is something I regulate myself in (as craaazy as it looks), and it is my proper dress code and mode of living. It works fantastically for me, and gets me recognized with the people I deal with and the friends I meet. They can never lose track of me at the mall.

Some advertisements are awfully intrusive, yes. However, I would not be opposed to wearing adverts if I supposed the product -- for example, a T-shirt with a Donald Trump "TRUMP" logo :) Yes I am a Trump fan. Hahaha... I guess humans wear ads in support of something they like, or they just don't know what it means. In either case, it adds customization.

Yeah. Well, sometimes I wear an Apple t-shirt and sometimes a shirt with a logo from one of my sites. Like this one, for instance :-).

Maybe we should have some subtle designs on the store on here, based on the passport stuff. Maybe something having to do with the orange bracelet "passport" proposed by another site. Or the "infinity snake"? (Never seen an infinity snake nor do I know what it means, but someone mentioned that in a thread back at aspergia)

Thank-you everybody, so far for all the information. I find it very interesting. Keep posting closet descriptions and feelings on clothes. I just can't get enough of it. I thought I would make a comment on women's clothes, being a male I thought some of you would find it interesting. I am tempted to write cautiously but I think that I am just going to be straight forward as sensitively censoring my feelings on this topic would defeat the purpose of writing this in the first place. Please be open-minded to my small minded views rather then offended.

I have had a few intimate relationships with some women. In there dress I have always preferred at times that they dress like whores. I just find it attractive. Although I do not like them to go outside that way. I like thier beauty to be a secret, our secret perhaps. With women that I am not intimately involved with I prefer unrevealing clothes. Even if I find a woman very attractive I would rather not see her flesh. Her flesh is very distracting. When I see alot of flesh it is very difficult for me to concentrate on what woman is saying or doing. I prefer a woman's mind to her body. Even in the case when a woman does not have much of a mind I would still rather concentrate on her person and not her body. If I see alot of skin on a not so intelligent women I will never realize that thier strength may be compassion or something not so obvious at first. It must be difficult to be a woman. I can't imagine how they can deal with such a dynamically changing body.

I live in Atlanta Georgia where it is very hot. Everyday I see what I call "naked women." Yesterday when I was on my way to work I drove by a girl that was walking from the neighborhood pool and wearing just a flesh toned bikini. I felt like I was not supposed to look. I think that she was in the age range of 15-17. She had a very developed body. She did not use her towel to hide anything. I have difficulty with this situation. I even felt violated.

When ever this situation occurs I go through a thought cycle. I wonder why she has no trouble parading her naked body. I wonder if I am allowed to yell "Put some clothes on!" I wonder if other peolpe feel the same way. I think of guys that I know that can just enjoy what they are seeing. I wonder if I should have stared. I wonder if she notices that I do not. I wonder if she wanted me to stare. I begin to assume that for her it is just not an issue. I get jealous that maybe she and most people are thinking about it. I feel violated because I feel like her nudity has power over me and makes me go through this thought cycle. The hotter it gets the more flesh I see and the more time I spend going through the same old thought cycle. On some days I must spend 4 or 5 hours thinking about how if it were up to me then I would not allow such exposure of flesh. I hate thinking this. I would much rather think of something else.

Some of the initial posts on this thread describe a wardrobe of woman's clothes that I like. The baggy clothes I find very pleasing. I feel like that I can get to know a woman that dresses that way. It is when I start to see shoulders and chest when I can no longer concentrate on the woman herself. But it really is hot down here in Atlanta. And most of the clothes for sale in the stores for women are very revealing. If I were a beautiful woman or even an ugly woman I think that I might also wear such little clothing. But then again I am a male and I don't even wear shorts or walk around shirtless. See, here I go again on that thought cycle...

I am no longer sure what my point is but maybe writing this and reading some feedback will help me get past it. One last comment, I also find certain business attire very distracting. I love those gray linen or wool business pants that woman wear to work, very nice. Seems like I have a problem even when they are fully covered. Maybe I just have a problem being attracted to woman. Now that I am thinking about it again, I don't think there is such a thing as an ugly woman, physically that is. But I am going tangent so I'll stop now.

I like to wear kaki shorts and short sleeved polo shirts.

That makes me wonder if I could do dual purpose and spray my watch's strap neon orange or something... I don't know what an infinity snake is either :|

I've never understood the fashion thing, either . . . I wear mostly men's clothes (despite the fact that I'm female) for a couple of reasons - first they are more comfortable, also I value male traits more than female so I'm very andrgoenous and I just like men's clothes . . .
I have some business suits for job interviews, but they are male styled - I can't remember the last time I even considered wearing a dress - maybe 1995 or so . . .

I have to admit to having my bellybutton pierced, but I don't wear the pants that show it off - all my modification is for me!

Heh, thanks for being forward and expressing yourself. Yeah... naked women... ain't that something! :)

You don't find yourself getting desensitized or numb after repeated viewings?

No, I don't get desensitized because I rarely look for longer than a second or two. Maybe I should start looking for longer and the whole thing won't be such a bother. Maybe this is like how some Aspies have issues with touch. It seems like some of those with milder issues with touch are able to get used to being touched over time. Maybe if I start looking then I too will not be bothered.

Yeah, I personally find being acclimated gradually at a comfortable pace over time helps.

An Addams Family episode ("Portrait of Gomez") just came on that reminded me of this topic. In the episode, Gomez mentioned that he had dozens of the same exact suit.
