Hi, lemme explain. A family member figured out I'm Captaintrips222, and I have some personal things on here that I don't wish to share with the general public. Can I somehow get my name deleted?

We don't delete accounts and there are solid reasons for that. But, if you ask real nicely, and limit your request to a reasonable number, I (or someone else with mod tools) might be able to go in and edit a few things for you. Send a pm and provide links and specifics, and be patient because I have a work deadline. Note that I won't go around looking for all the times the material got quoted, and google cache may keep the history, so it isn't always as effective as you would hope, but I will try to make a limited number of requested edits if you think that can help. As long as I don't start to get more requests like that than I can handle as a volunteer with lots of real life responsibilities, it is something I, personally, am sympathetic to. There is nothing that says we have to do it for anyone, however. If I or any mod does it, its a favor. We get to be fickle about it. Deal?

You also can edit your profile to show less information, or less specific information. I could be incorrect on this, but I believe the only thing you absolutely must have in your profile is a valid email address.

Always, always be careful what you post on a public site. What hits the internet can take on a life of its own. Be sure you are ready to own that before you press send on anything.
