| There was a forum topic I read on the weekend and now I've thought of something to say in it, but I can't find it now. I'm not on the same computer so the history can't help and it would probably be weeks until I'm at that computer again. The only words I remember from the first post were "good news" but the search function doesn't sort buy date so I'm getting post from 2005. |

google
good news site:www.wrongplanet.net
It should be sorted by date, if that's not enough, goto google's advanced page and select last week/month in the date field. |

At the Forum Index, click at the upper right hand corner of the list of the individual forums on the link "View your posts" - this will show all your posts in order from most recent to first. Given the total number of your posts, it shouldn't take too long to find it from that list.. at least an alternative option for you.

Ooo, that's a good idea, that didn't occur to me! But do WP topics come up as "news"?
I used the old search for awhile, but then it started just redirecting to the new google custom search, which has that pesky issue of not sorting by date.

I don't think he was referring to a post he'd posted in, it was one he'd read, and then later thought of something to say. (Hmm, that would actually be a kinda nice feature if it would tell you the things you've recently looked at, like Overstock.com does.. Hey Lau, is there a good Firefox plug-in that does that?) _________________ Envy, is admiration in denial. --DaWalker

No. In Seamonkey, I just type Ctrl+H. It's Ctrl+Shift+H in Firefox. _________________ "Striking up conversations with strangers is an autistic person's version of extreme sports." Kamran Nazeer |

Ah ha! And it'll even let you search and tell you when you visited each one! You rock!

"good news" is the keyword and "site:..." is the site.
And of course your local history will provide the most flexible way to search if the post is still there. |
